Yeh, BA mentioned Calver and O'Keefe in the quote above my comment so don't know why you've said them again. Merrick-Lewis I'd forgotten about, never saw him play in the matches I saw.

Nope... They won the league then all but a few got released, which most on sz seemed to think was fine, but worries me!

7 went two of then reserves ademeno and lokando 0ver 18,in the final league winning match only abbey played of the 7 released so no big worry for me.

I don't see the harm in it in these early pre-season matches.

This forum would have been up in arms if we played with 10 men at any stage in the last two friendlies, much more then they are at the moment.

I imagine we will have at least one player signed up next week, at by next weekend match the kitman won't be near the side.

Lets be honest, if Scannell and Walker were fit or alive (Just for you EastStandBlue) the kitman wouldn't be getting a look in.

Anyone know why Sankofa didn't play against Witham? Again, if he was there, kitman wouldn't have played.

I don't know why some are being so hysterical over Parmenter's involvement. I seem to recall a few years ago Wayne Gray's cousin playing in a couple of friendlies. I think we did OK in the subsequent season...

Of last season's squad, goalkeeper Nathan McDonald, defenders Ricky Byrne, Jack Morris and Ronnie Jones, captain Davis Abbey and forwards Tashan Adeyinka and Fredrik Ljungstrom were released - a total of seven.

However, to replace them, goalkeeper Daniel Bentley, defenders Teddy Nesbitt and Kane Ferdinand, midfielders George Smith, James Stevens and Julian Okai and forwards Michael Ngoo and Freddy Lapado have been introduced from the Centre of Excellence, all of whom gained experience of playing for the Under-18s during the run-in to the end of the title-winning 2008/9 season.

The youth team had a pre-season friendly at Premier Academy League West Bromwich Albion yesterday, and are on tour to Denmark this week.

funny you should say that yes yes SHE is, Kane is actually ther emother shes getting on abit now and turns up to training stinking of **** every now and then but at the end of the day she is a natural player, and an experienced head in an under 18's team is as good as delaying waank 10 minutes before you nail your old lady for the first time

I think there is confusion between the youth team and those players on development contracts (another years deal to have a final look to see if they warrant a pro contacr). I believe O Keefe is on a professional contract, whilst Claver on a development conract . Those released were at the end of their youth contact and were felt not good enough for a development contract let alone a full pro deal

Ricky Duncan himself has said he wouldn't expect more than a couple of each year's crop of youth players to make the grade so we're going to have to get used to most leaving us at the end of each season.

BTW Steve Tilson is playing Parmenter in the warm-up games to further enrage the paranoid/gullible on here still in a tizzy over Dan Harding's 'signing' for Yeovil

I bet Dave the Kit Man is even more angry about the club getting rid of him, he would have loved to play a couple of games. I think Dave would have been better than Steve Parmenter.
