Stephen Hawking..

Having taken A Level Physics and read most of SH books it is a subject that intrigues me greatly. I impressed the missus last night by explaning the basics of quantum mechanics before the programme started and also the "string theory" and it's extra dimensions as they are all covered in his excellent book "The universe in a nutshell" which is well worth a read. Thought the programme was good but only touched the surface really without delving into the subject of dark matter and anti matter which go a long way to explaining a lot of the mysteries surounding the lack of mass in the universe as a whole in comparison to the gravitational pull of the galaxies and all other matter and energy

I think the fact that SH has had a mindset for 40 years on something and now says the String theory maybe some kind of answer .. IMO it goes to show we actually know nothing, it is all guess work and quantum maths that seem to be ditched at the next awakening.. I have always thought it odd that us as humans of very little time in the Universe as a whole have the audacity to think we know anything at all about the Cosmos and how it works...

There is less sand on all the beaches in the world than stars in our Milky way let alone a different Galaxy of which there are Billions... ( No comments on Chocolate please)

IMO we are all energy vibrating at different levels of consciousness with one model from which we all came from and probably many more worlds out there ...that we call God, the Energy thats gives us love etc ..I would doubt we will ever know all the answers.

That sounds like Moksha?

No,I was interested in what the programme was saying ...Do you not ever question our being here and why?

Lol...that's ok......Some people ask or think about our origin some don't..

Ozzy will understand ....

Me?

I havent got a clue mate!

Im lost...

Me?

I havent got a clue mate!

Im lost...

I think he meant me ;)
Anyways, the latest New Scientist does have a new article on dark matter and how maybe it dosnt really exisit , and they made a mistake when they formulated teh concept. (Or it could be we cant explain the universe with this model quick make a new one ;) )

Im not sure DM and anti- explain it , you see here what gets me (and Cricko) , its deemed to be understood when a model to percive and recognise a event is formulated , yet any results gained from this are processed by each and every inidivual . Of whos perceptions would be differnet . So how we ever say theres one absolute defenitive concept solution etc ill never understand ???

Steering well clear of this thread, far too deep and intellectual for me!

Noooo don't, join in Thats the whole thing , its only a preconceived notion that makes it seem like it is . Were not discussing the maths here (that would lose me easierly !!). Its the ideas behind. Its the why to a scientist/egineers how and what .

But it's all quantum physics and theology rolling around and crashing heads isn't it? Having had a Christian upbringing I'm afraid I just accept, I don't question.

See, I've put you off haven't I - told you I should keep clear. Half an hour and neither of you's got anything to say!

Oh pish ;) . Ok the name Elohim in the Old teastament (the hebrew world used in the line and in the begining was void and teh word was spoken etc etc ). Means male/female pularal all as one (i have a chum who's an ancient languages teacher/Phd ). The sign of Christinaity is not the cross its ....... The fish (which is also older as it's the Viscous Piscus (this is from memory so if others know). The cross symbol refers to light or Lux (hence teh latin phrase Fiat Lux (let there be light)) Which is you notice looks like the epgytian anhk . Meaning footstep or to go foreth, which is made up of a circle and a bottom part of the a cross. both slide nito each other , and togther they form life .

Thats for starters :D
Btw The stuff about Jesus and Mary Mag and her brother Lazurus (propably at least a grain of truth ;) )

That sounds all a little Da Vinci Code-ish to me! I understand all about the ancient links between the symbols of different races/religions, but tbh didn't think that was particularly relevant to the conversation you and Cricko were having concerning Stephen Hawking - never even saw the programme anyway!

You'd be surprised ;) . Most foundation of science as we understand it comes from Greece (polyathetic society). Issace Newton laidied the foundation for our model of physics (Was an Alchemisty, Astrologer, and ritual magician ;) ) . The Da Vinic had to get its ideas frmo some where ;) . (Templar Revelations by Ian Prince and Lynn Picknet very good book ). And the point here was more about percetions and ideas (end thread rot (im not MK you know))

Stephen Hawking, Master of the Universe about to start on Channel 4 ...be nice to hear peoples thoughts on it after...

A bit pretentious, this Stephen Hawking...

An English who has an American accent..

Not sure I would like a speak and spell stuck up my ar$e
