What exactly does Maher bring to the team?

Misplaced Passes
Crap setpieces
Constant whinging at referees

To name but a few...

He's not exactly a 100% player like Guttridge.

Yes i would sell him. He never gets subbed off when playing really bad, must be that clause in his contract, fact.

Far from it. I just don't react in some farcical over the top way like you do to some things. Do you ever think things through?

Yes Maher is playing poorly at the moment, but every player has a dip in form. He's vital to us and I don't think it's any coincidence that his dip in form has come at the same time the team’s results have dipped.

Why weren't you saying these things when the team were winning and Maher was playing well?

I can't believe you've not put Byrne and his massive arse in goal.

Lunacy Ed, sheer lunacy

Even when we was winning and playing well, Maher in my eyes has always been an average player with a poor disciplinary record.

For a captain he doesn't get stuck in enough, well not like messrs Barrett, Guttridge and Bentley.

I'd trade him in.

Maher takes his place in the team for granted, cause he knows he will never be subbed, and his name will always be first on the teamsheet.

One player is not bigger than SUFC.

Just wish Tilly had the balls to drop him, and to bring him down a peg or two.

Major part of promotion last season and our top 3 showing this season, consistently more assists then ANYONE else at the club, being selected by his fellow pros as the player of the season, loved by every manager that's ever had him at the club...

Despite a poor showing on Saturday (by his standards), not exactly what I'd call time for a fresh change!

Ah well... opinions, eh?

Trouble is, it's not just a case of Saturday's game that Maher has been poor in, but the last 5 games.

That's why I think he should be dropped for a game, hopefully it'd buck his ideas up.

Tilly out! Wignall Back!

Theres my opinion - not as quite as crazy as Tony's and CSJ's but there we go!

There may be some truth in that and a quick spell on the sidelines might be the right idea with Kevin Maher.

One of the most frustrating things with this site (and many others I'm sure) is the complete hyperbole of opinions. Maher is either God or he is completely cack!

As a huge Maher fan (a fan that likes him a lot, not a fan that eats too many burgers), perhaps dropping him for a game would be a sensible decision. However, we've seen over a long period of time that neither Tilly nor Brush are stupid. They know what they see on the field. They know what they see going on in training.

For me, when Maher plays well, the team plays well.

What we need then is Maher to play well.
Do Tilly and Brush achieve this by dropping him, or do they achieve this by showing faith in one of our most consistent players and playing him through a poor run of form - a tough decision I'm sure you'll agree.

While unquestioning faith in the management team isn't the answer, I do however have every confidence that they know what they're doing.
