Question Stadium update please!

Southend United could just bring Roy McDonough out of retirement he could still stop a truck.

Sorted

The council are a bunch of money grabbing *****. What is their problem with the football club. Look at how well other teams have done and the extra revenue it brings with a successful football team eg Brighton, Swansea etc. Seaway is a joke and won’t benefit or bring anyone extra to the town. Out of town retail space is so much better and seems a lot safer aswel

All I know is the club has a terrible name when it comes to actually paying people for jobs they have done for SUFC. Literally all of my mates are in the building/plumbing/Sparky game etc etc and they or people they know have done plenty of work for the club over the years but won't do anything ever again. Simply because they make it very difficult to get paid.

They do pay eventually but after countless chasers over several months.

This sort of reputation spreads quickly to other people in those trades but also friends of friends etc. Perhaps the council know about this or have had people they know affected by this and aren't in a rush to be helpful for us.

I think it is more likely that our scheme contains a lot more flaws. Ron is a small time property developer and he is well out of his depth.

Has SBC ever thought to survey residents as to what type of establishments would most be welcomed in the town rather than make these important decisions on the back of no market research ? The creation of hundreds of jobs won't ever happen. There is nothing in Southend to attract visitors, everything is either done on the cheap or as a half-measure.

The SAM (Scheduled Ancient Monument) management plan has now been loaded onto the Council planning portal.

As far as I understand it, this means the Council now have everything they require.

If the global financial crisis was enough to scupper us last time imagine what Brexit could do! No deal Brexit and this is dead again IMO

Rather than waste it on the NHS, we only need one weeks EU contribution to pay for the whole project.....Don't you remember the big red bus.

There will be a full report on the Trust website (not in the members only section) in a few days, but suffice to say, Ron was very positive when talking about the new stadium last night at the Trust AGM. Definitely talking "when" not "if" - and hoping to be starting the build in June/July 2019 to be ready for the 2020 season.

It's actually quite amazing how advanced things are behind the scenes, all it needs is the council's rubber stamp.

He's even bought 121 trees which are currently growing ready for the walkway area!

Got held up at work last night so missed it...

Did he mention the Seaway development and SBC's apparent delaying of FF whilst waiting for the Seaway plans ?
