A goalkeeper is different from a winger.

Keepers make one mistake and it loses a game, a winger putting in a bad cross doesnt. A winger who has a dip in confidence is easier to rest than your keeper.

Im not saying Belford is a bad player, but Ive rarely seen mistakes like Wednesday and now Ive seen it Ill have doubts which only further steady performances will ease.

Id still be more than happy to see him sign permanently.

As to expectations I agree they do need to be kept in perspective, but saying why should we be trying to replace Gilbert and Barker isnt a balanced view. Both have had mixed seasons and trying to improve the team is key, it may be we dont find anyone but that doesnt mean its wrong to suggest it.

Nope.

I'd like to see Hills come in, and if Barker leaves which I don't really want him to, we need another CB or two. Although I've enjoyed Prosser's commitment and solid performances. Tackles well and has just needed a bit of belief provided by Sturrock to give him some belief in himself. You can see the improvement in him so obviously. A lot of potential.

Dicko and Fred next year could be a deadly partnership, but we will see what Fred does.

On the subject of Dicko, has he had his ankles operated whilst he had his leg break operation? Anybody know!

Jam-Man, it's not OBD's fault he's got an odd view on goalkeepers as he's been in front of me for last couple of years for SZFC.

We are desperate for a center half with pace, we have been exposed to often this season
This is where the conundrum comes in for me. Mohsni, without the absolutely crazy side is perfect at centre back. Wins everything in the air and has reasonable pace. For me though I'd still get rid, even if it was on a free, however tempting it is to have someone of his ability in the defensive line. I just think overall he'd be more a nuisance than a bonus. I definitely wouldn't keep him as an attacking option, he blows so hot and cold, I know he's capable of fantastic moments but overall I'd rather see Martin in the side ahead of him.

We are desperate for good defenders period, with the exception of Phillips. Our full backs including many fans' favourite Clohessey cannot pass or cross the ball consistently and their positional play is poor. Barker, Prosser and the rest are simply not good/consistent enough over 46 games. Successful teams are built on the foundation of a good defence, which is why we came up short at the most crucial time of our season.

Got to take issue there, hasn't Clohessy a decent number of assists? He can cross the ball, and Gilbert has also proved he can.

Clohessey, Gilbert and the rest of our defence have the job of defending first and foremost. Both guilty of hoofing it up the park on countless occasions. Neither got a decent cross or pass in against Crewe in either game, when it really mattered.

This isn't the premier league, players who can consiststly pass/cross and also defend will get snapped up in higher leagues. Players like Clohessy who can cross well at times is a good player for league 2. Personally the only player I'd remove is Barker, who I'd replace with Prosser, yes he hoofs a lot but he is a good defender and has proven himself to be solid against a good Crewe said.

In one of his interviews recently PS said that he thought Moshni was an incredible player and the best centre half he'd ever seen yet he never plays him there.

If you could rewire his brain he would be perfect. But the mental side of the game, he doesn't seem to have a clue.

I think keeping/releasing Mohsni may be the key decision for Sturrock's tenure here. Mohsni just doesn't seem like he'll last the whole of next season to me. Love to be proved wrong though.
