Where art thou Tes 🦐
For me we have a great nucleus of players but need to get rid of a few (Mohsni first) and bring in a couple that can play football on the ground.

GK:
New signing [Daniels / Belford / another (in that order)]
[Backup] Dan Bentley 2013

RB:
Sean Clohessy
Ryan Leonard

LB:
New signing [Lee Hills?]
[Teddy Nesbitt - loan out]

CB:
Mark Phillips
Pat Baldwin
New signing [Rory McArdle?]
Luke Prosser

RM:
Ryan Hall
Ryan Leonard

LM:
Dave Martin
New signing (youth with potential) / George Smith (can he play there? Has he got potential?)

CM:
Jean-Paul Kalala
Anthony Grant / New signing [if he leaves]
Kane Ferdinand
Michael Timlin
Lee Sawyer / New signing
James Stevens (has always seemed good technically, would like to see him given a chance)

ST:
Neil Harris
Elliot Benyon
Liam Dickinson
New signing (Would obviously love Eastwood)

Unsure:
Chris Barker [If we can replace then do so but no immediate capt choice (Harris?)]
Barry Corr

Loan out:
Luke Chambers
Teddy Nesbitt
George Smith (if not good enough backup lm)

Depending on whether they have a future, keep if the management see something in them but otherwise release:
Merrick James-Lewis
Alex Woodyard
Kyle Asante

Release:
Peter Gilbert
Glenn Morris
Bilel Mohsni
Christian Dailly
Harry Crawford
Matt Paterson
Blair Sturrock

Become Assistant (retire from playing):
Graham Coughlan

In summary, to sign:
A keeper
A left back
A centre back
A youthful left mid
An attacking central mid
A striker.

What do you guys think?

I'd keep Mohsni and I'd get rid of Sawyer and Baldwin.
Out of interest did you go to the game yesterday? Not to say you're wrong, but he was such a liability in the first half. I'd much rather have a united team than a group of individuals. Our sum of parts was probably better than Crewe yesterday, but as a team they were far superior.

Yeah I went to the game yesterday and I agree at times he can be a liability but he gives us a great option because he is one of the best headers of the ball in the league and always seems to beat his marker to the ball. I'm not suggesting he should be a starter but i believe he is a fantastic option to come off the bench IMO.

Clear out all the loanees then assess what we need. Expect to lose Mohsni to Rotherham, and possibly Hall and Ferdinand. Do not expect any others to go of their own accord.

IMHO
Need a new Goalkeeeper.
Need Central Defender.
Need New Striker (Possibly Eastwood if he wants to play for Sturrock)
Others depend on who leaves

Off load
Blair Sturrock
Lee Sawyer
Glen Morris
Paul Baldwin
Christain Dailly
probably Barry Corr will not play again (If that is the case shame really)
Anto Flood (May have already gone but web site has not confirmed)

Rest depends on what the budget states and wage cap for the season.

Not easy times and we could end up with less players in the squad than this year. If so how abaout playing Dave Martin and start with 2 wingers?

I'm going to go against the whole of SZ and probably receive a letter bomb but i dislike Mohsni
He is a liability, doesn't look interested most of the time, cries and runs round like its a drama lesson.
People say he is a game winner, have not seen it enough IMO

More to the point, whose available- quite a few teams have announced who they are releasing (championship/l1)- anyone worth a look at?

Belford looked very shaky yesterday, I was happy with him, but am now not so sure.

Mohsni is a tricky one, he was awful first half, amazing second half. I think Id keep him as he has abilty to be amazing,

Defence wise I think Barker is past his best now, Prosser ijust doesnt do it for me. so Id like to see us get someone else in to partner Phillips.

Most importantly though I want to see a midfielder who can pass the ball, and for us to play in a way that encourages it.

This is what I'd do.

Offer new contracts:
Anthony Grant
Mark Phillips
Barry Corr (pay-as-you-play)
Christian Dailly (pay-as-you-play)

Take up 2013 option:
Bilel Mohsni
Ryan Leonard

Release:
Glenn Morris
Peter Gilbert
Teddy Nesbitt
Chris Barker
Luke Prosser
Pat Baldwin
JP Kalala
Lee Sawyer
George Smith
Jamie Stevens
MJL
Blair Sturrock
Matt Paterson
Kyle Asante
Liam Dickinson

I could be convinved to keep Prosser and even Gilbert, tbh, but I reckon a shake-up wouldn't be the worst thing.

I'd be looking for a new keeper (obviously), we'd need a left-back and I'd really try for Eastwood if we could get him. Then we'd need some depth, particularly at the back.

Players To Keep

This squad is overgrown, I admire Paul Sturrock for what he has done but some players have been panic buys and quite frankly have just got to go. All this depends on our financial state but we need to get a few players in and replace some of what we got now

Here are the ones I reckon we need to keep:

GK - Belford ( I reckon he will sign, the emotion last night says it all)
Morris (no.2)

Defenders - Phillips
Barker (As Back-up) get another defender in hopefully
Gilbert (Proven his capability over last few games) ( controversial for some of you I know)
Clohessy
Mohsni
Get another 2 in hopefully or 3 at a push

Midfielders - Grant
Martin (Don't know why he isnt playing, was best January buy for me)
Hall
JP Kalala ( Thought he was decent before injury )
Hopefully buy in another 3 or for free agents

Attackers - Dickinson
Harris
Eastwood (I Hope)
Barry Corr (hopefully he comes back from injury)
Hopefully buy another striker proven at this level

Given we will have Bentley and Chambers on our books as pro's next year I can't see Morris and another Senior keeper.

GK:
New signing [Daniels / Belford / another (in that order)]
[Backup] Dan Bentley 2013

RB:
Sean Clohessy
Ryan Leonard

LB:
Lee Hills
Teddy Nesbitt

CB:

New signing [Rory McArdle?]
Luke Prosser
New Signing

RM:
Ryan Hall
Ryan Leonard

LM:
Dave Martin
New signing

CM:

Jean-Paul Kalala
Anthony Grant / New signing [if he leaves]
Kane Ferdinand
Michael Timlin
Lee Sawyer / New signing
James Stevens (has always seemed good technically, would like to see him given a chance)

ST:
Neil Harris (captain
Elliot Benyon
Liam Dickinson
Eastwood/ new signing
Corr (if possible)

Release:
Peter Gilbert
Glenn Morris
Bilel Mohsni
Christian Dailly
Harry Crawford
Matt Paterson
Blair Sturrock
Chris Barker (sorry to say it, but I think he's past it now, he's a decent defender but too slow)

I really don't think the squad these that many additions to it, depending on who leaves.

Positions in order of who I would play there:

GK: Sign Belford (as we won't get Daniels), Bentley.

RB: Clohessey, Leonard

LB: Sign one, Prosser

CB: Phillips, Sign one, Prosser, Barker, Dailly/Ferdinand/Grant as emergency 5th choice.

RW: Hall, Leonard, Sawyer

LW: Mohsni, Martin

CM: Grant, Timlin, Kalala, Ferdinand, Dailly

FW: Sign Eastwood (if possible), Harris, Dickinson, Benyon, Corr (If he can play again)

So this means we offload:
Morris
Gilbert
Crawford
Patterson
Baldwin
Sturrock

So this has us only needed to make 4 good signing (two already identified). If Luggy can do this, and maybe 1/2 max luxury signings on top, we have the makings of a very good side next season.

Sorry but I just don't get this, you offloaded a few players that have hardly put a shirt on this season and keep so many others that failed overall this season.

Heard today from a reliable source Shrewsbury have enquired about Ryan Hall. Would be a shame to lose him.
Barry Corr is training which is good news.
Paterson's contract ends so that free's up wages for Mr Eastwood
Still cant believe im reading people wanting Sturrock out, Who would you replace him with? Sturrock is a good manager and has a great eye for new players so im sure we'll have a new set of players start of next season.

I would cash in on Ferdinand as i really dont get all the hype that surrounds him. Either play Mohsni in his correct position at centre back or decide to sell on. If Corr isnt fit we need a target man if we keep our current style of play. A new left midfielder would be ideal along with a pacey forward if possible....... I would unload Prosser and any who werent regular this season for starters and then see whats about in the market.

As for keepers...Daniels would be ideal, jury is out on Belford for me
