Timlin, Corr and White are musts, if it means paying more then do it, especially in Timlin's case, he is and has been arguably our most important player for the past four years.Corr is a league two player but could do a job if we secure promotion.White is our most underated player and has been superb this year, as his team-mates recognised by naming him r/up in the players player awards.With the rest, Barrett takes care of himself as only will finish at the Blues. Prosser and Thompson could be retained as squad players, Deegan and Atkinson are replaceable and all the rest are 100% on their way out

I didn't hear Wycombe until they scored.

wycombe should have taken more of their chances.

He'd still be under the age of 23 though so we wouldn't lose him for nothing. Whoever signs him would have to pay a fee set by a tribunal, although it's normally always less than what we would get selling him now without tribunal. Dan's always said that he'd love to go through the leagues with Southend, so going up yesterday has certainly increased our chances of keeping him.

Being realistic.....Dan posted another fantastic advert for himself on Saturday. Two penalty saves and the tip over the bar will have added to his value. We will have to sell him as a tribunal price will not reflect his true value. Sell him to a top Championship side or a Premier League side with a loan back clause and a sell-on clause added. This way he gets the move he deserves to have and be on the books of a Premier side, and we get his services next season rather than him sitting on a bench or in the reserves elsewhere.

And the former Bromfords School pupil will soon be meeting with both Brown and his agent to discuss his future.


“I will be having a meeting with Dan and his agent in the next week or so to discuss his future and where we go from here,” said Brown.


“He still has 18 months left on his contract with us but I think it’s important we set out a plan going forward and we obviously all hope that includes us getting promotion this season.”

This was back in February, wonder if Brown said that if we were in League 2 then we would sell him but if we gained promotion sign an extension and stay for at least 1 more season.

Not being a doom-monger, but This got me thinking about the players we have released as well as the recent players that have opted not to renew their current contracts that are due to expire in 2015.

Obviously we will bring new players in, but if the current trend continues, our squad would look extremely thin on the ground to say the least!! (thats the polite way to put it).
