I used to drink with away fans in the Spread. Whilst it's always been a home pub, you'd get a handful of away fans in and you got to gauge their expectations before the match and get their views after the game. I always enjoyed the "your no.7 looked a handful" type chats which gave a different perspective on the game.
However for the last decade or so, instead of using common sense they enforce an "us" and "them" mentality by segregating fans. I understand there are games when reluctantly this might be a sensible precaution, but we don't need to live in fear of Accrington or Morecambe's crew taking the Spread and running amok like the infamous Colchester Carnage Bridage.
It was justed a thought perhaps the new bloke might allow itWhy?.................

Who remembers when it had three bars, Saloon, Public and Private?
Don't see why away fans aren't allowed in, this is League Two and it's 2014. There are hardly likely to be any teams that bring enough fans to be an issue.
Again I dont think the police will allow it the current rules on matchdays were brokered when we went into the championship.
As True Blue says, all the restrictions, such as plastic glasses in the 2 hours before KO, darts taken behind bar at least 1 hour before KO, pool table covered up and cues and balls removed behind bar, segregated pubs for home and away fans and doormen on the doors are imposed as licence conditions of all the pubs surrounding the ground. Therefore if the new manager did want to change any of those then he will need to win over the relevant authorities and demonstrate that any risks will not be increased.
