SPOT-FIXING.

THE SEVENTIES NORTH BANK

Life President⭐⭐🦐
So Paqueta of Spam faces severe punishment, possibly even a lifetime ban from the FA, if found guilty of spot-fixing. Some won't know what spot-fixing is, it's attempts to defraud bookmakers by a player taking a pre-arranged action to fix the result of that specific event. So it's not match fixing, but getting bets on a pre arranged action in a match. So allegedly, he was getting himself booked in a few games on purpose. He's accused of deliberately getting booked in the games against Leicester, Aston Villa, Leeds, Bournemouth. They got his old mobile from him, found some evidence, allegedly. Then they wanted to investigate other stuff they found on there, and asked for his old mobile again, but it wasn't handed over. So they added two more charges. It could all be resolved in March next year it's reported. It has massively affected his form.
Now I don't think it will be a lifetime ban as it's not match fixing. But he will get a hefty punishment, and possibly a long match ban. But it makes you wonder how much of this goes on, when you can bet on things like bookings total, and a certain player getting booked, sending offs, corners, or giving away a penalty. The Premiership and Championship players don't need to be involved in this sort of thing because of the vast amount they are paid. I should think a lot of it goes on from League One downwards as a way to make money. In Paqueta's case, he gave the tips to family members who would then bet on him getting booked. Allegedly. So it looks like a treat to his family, rather than making money himself. Still really bad, as a second yellow resulting in a red, could affect the result.
