Got a feeling the away game was 4-0 to Sunderland, but we beat them 3-1 at home in what was the last, or one of the last, games of Niall Quinn's tenure as manager. Barrett scored twice and Bradbury the third.

I remember Southend beating Swindon 5-3 a long time ago. Andy Polycarpou tore them apart. The headline in one newspaper the next day was "Poly put the pressure on". My brothers father-in-law had a heart attack and died just as we were leaving for the match. Still got there for the second half though.

Seen about 15 of the wins mostly in the 60s & 70s (most recent the Torquay 7-0) plus about 10 of the big defeats the latest the home defeat by Brum (men against boys that day) - my home excuse is being an exile for 30 plus years
