CP posted this...........don't know whether it's already been mentioned?
Chris Phillips ‏@CJPhillips1982 Injury update: Britt 50/50 for Saturday, Laird out for 2 to 3 weeks. Hurst & Cresswell to have scans to see how bad injuries are.
Apparently, there was supposed to be a closed doors game against Watford (don't know whether it was home or away), postponed due to a frozen pitch. Couldn't see any of last nights players being involved.....perhaps it was going to give Britt a run out?...........maybe to look at some trialists? According to CP we are still favourites to sign Splillane. Incidently, he mentioned that Spicer was not in the squad last night due to illness.
One further thing regarding Britt, the Independent claimed that he was facing a late fitness test in their review for the match last night. From what is mentioned above perhaps they weren't so wide of the mark with that info?

Yep, dual threat really hence why I mentioned the temps. Also the amount of snow expected may increase/decrease in the next 24-48 hours, frontal snow is notoriously difficult to forecast.

Either way I would happily take a bet right now!

You're on !

believe it or not, leaving snow on the pitch and then clearing it off the morning of the game is the best and most lightly route groundsmen take when fighting frozen pitches.

Agreed - however given the temps are already below freezing before any predicted snow has arrived and that pitches are already frozen (see tweet from CP) I would say that the chances are more in favour of a postponement at this stage.

Well if the weather is as predicted, I can't see this one going ahead. If it does however:

Smith
Clohessy - Phillips - Prosser - Barker
Leonard - Woodyard - Timlin - Martin
Corr - Tomlin

Subs: Bentley - Coughlan - Straker - Spicer - Harris - Benyon - Njie

I see Depor has already done the job for me, but here is my take as of this moment:

Snow still on for Friday.

ETA in Essex around 2-3pm. Slightly earlier for you city workers.

Continuing into Sat morning and tailing off into the afternoon.

Accumulations of 5-10cm look about right.

All subject to massive change at this stage though.

Saturdays game

Whats the chances of the match on Saturday being called off due to inclemmant weather?

would be a touch if it is due to injuries, loss off form etc

I think our strongest team at the moment and the team I would start on Saturday would be:

Smith
Clohessy Phillips Prosser Barker
Leonard Woodyard Timlin Martin
Corr Tomlin

......................smith......................
Clohessey..phillips..prosser..barker
leonard..woodyard..timlin..martin
..............tomlin...corr...................

Bench: Benyon,harris,spicer,coughlin,straker,bentley

I think you might have it right, but injuries and illness are funny things and Big Ben can work miracles with his physio stuff and wet sponge.
