Early. But I don't know about you, I need to forget about last night.

Time for Sawyer to come in I think?

Thoughts?

Morris

Clohessy, Phillips, Barker, Prosser

Kalala

Ferdinand, Hall

Sawyer

Dickinson, Harris

I've got 10 of my 11 - cant decide whether to go 442 or 433 which will determine the last place!

So far;

GK: Morris
RB: Clohessey
CB: Barker
CB: Prosser
LB: Gilbert
MF: Kalala
MF: Grant
MF: Sawyer
FW: Hall
FW: Harris
??

Last place will be Dicko in a 442 or Ferdinand in a 433 with Hall, Sawyer and Harris advanced... decisions, decisions!!!

One thing i said last night though driving back, is that after last night, we have questions over EVERY position I'd say! Anything can happen in the team selection for Saturday and I'd not be surprised to see a left-field decision from Sturrock (guess my Gilbert/Prosser shift is an eye opener....)

Lot of love for Sawyer so far!

We need a bit of creativity in this side if we are gonna get the best out of Harris and Dicko - we hoped it would be JJ and Hall, but perhaps need Sawyer.

I don't get all the Sawyer love. Yes, we need something else in midfield but is Sawyer the answer? Had a great chance to score up at Accrington after doing the hard part in rounding the defender but then bottled it.

Think that is about right, but I think it's far more likely to be Ferdinand that gets dropped rather than Grant IF Sawyer gets the nod.

...................Morris
Clohessy Phillips* Barker Prosser
...................Kalala
....Grant......Sawyer.....Hall
...........Dickinson Harris

*If Phillips is unfit, Prosser into centre and Gilbert or Leonard at LB.

What's your suggestion then, N'Diaye or one of the youthies? The other option is JJ and he's completely out of form at the minute.

Or the keeper saved it after Sawyer had CREATED the chance. Either way you want to dress it up.

I'm with Drastic - who else do you have in mind to come in and be this magical creator?

I would have liked to see us in a diamond last night. I think Ferdinands best position is in front of the back four mopping up anything around there. Positionally he is excellent in that area, and he doesn't need a range of creative passing. In front of that I would have a 2-man wrecking crew of Grant and Kalala, with Hall at the front tip of the diamond, or alternatively we drop one of Dicko / Harris and play Sawyer and Hall as Inside Forwards (for want of a better term)

So lining up something like

Morris
Clohessy Phillips / Moshni Barker Prosser

Ferdinand

Grant Kalala

Hall

Harris Dickinson

Morris

Clohessy Barker Phillips* Prosser

Johnson Grant Sawyer Hall

Dickinson Harris

*If unfit, Prosser in the middle, Leonard left-back.

Whatever formation we play, we need Hall to play out wide, I wanted him through the middle but after last night it is essential he hugs that touchline and gets those balls on the box!

As someone pointed out on another thread sawyer didn't have the best stamina levels in the past, if he slows down after 20 minutes then he is useless to us, I'd rather bring him on after 60 minutes once the opposition has tired a bit.
I think JJ will improve, he's just lacking confidence right now.
Morris
Clohessy, Phillips, Barker, Prosser
Hall, Kalala, Grant/Ferdinand, JJ
Harris, Dickinson

Sawyer on at the 60 minute mark unless we're at least 2 ahead

I'll vote for this - I think it's an either/or for Ferdinand and Kalala and the latter is in possession of the shirt at the moment on merit.

I'd go with 4-4-2 personally:

Morris
Clohessy Phillips (if fit) Barker Prosser
JJ Kalala Grant Hall
Harris Dickinson

Arguably our strongest team at our current disposal (JJ form aside) although I do agree that Sawyer could make a big difference if allowed. I do like him as an impact sub though too...

I'd like to see:

Morris

Clohessy Phillips/Mohsni Barker Prosser

Hall Grant Kalala Sawyer

Dickinson Harris

Subs: Bentley, Leonard, Mohsni/Phillips, Ferdinand, JJ (I'd rest Coughlan for this one, we shouldn't need him to get past Burton I would hope and he picked up a knock last night). If Phillips isn't fit and doesn't even make the bench then Coughlan should be in the 16.

Out of interest, what has Clohessy done to deserve being dropped?

All three of Crawley's goals came either directly from their left (first, third goal) or from an attack which started on the left (second, leading to the pen). Clohessy had a mediocre game and needs to be kept on his toes.

I'm glad somebody else noticed this. To be fair to Sean, he had naff all cover from those in front of him. But he did get proper mugged a few times last night.

Not only that, he had a near on perfect season last year, and was unlucky not to win Player of the season.
Although he did have a bit of a crap one, but you are right it was the right side of midfield where we were completely anonymous.
