Promising that we have played Brentford twice, a team flying in League One and we have at the very least held our own.

This time we had more reserves out than them surely.

Don't forget Brentford reserve played better in JP as they had more effort on goal, today we almost beaten their first team if Tomlin scored with a header!

That line up has dampened my optimism I have to say. I'd have been a lot more optimistic if Eastwood had started instead of Corr. Not because I worship Eastwood and dislike Corr, not at all. More because of the type of football throughout the other 10 players that each of those two men promote. I think we're in for a frustrating afternoon of aimless long ball after aimless long ball from the back with Corr failing to get his head on any of them, nullifying the need for a midfield, and only one player up front with the speed, agility and close ball control necessary to continue the successful style of putting into the channels and behind the opposition defence. I think the Brentford defence are going to be laughing all game as they sweep up every stray or missed flick-on from Corr's head and beat Corr and Tomlin to almost every high ball. I seriously hope I'm proven wrong!

Very wrong!!

Very wrong!!

Yessir, and delighted to be proven so! Today Sturrock and his team proved that they could draft a target man into the starting 11 without compromising the excellent style of football that we've been playing so far this season. How we played today was EXACTLY how we should have played (but didn't) with BBBC in the team against Burton. So yes, delighted to be proven wrong. Unlike some people, I don't air my views hoping to be proven correct so that I can be smug in saying "I told you so" ;)
