Cricko you dont seem to post much these days ? I'm glad Shrimpet has bought you to the laptop ..

Win, lose or draw we will be watching tonight, and as always much breath will be held each time Walsall get into our 18 yard box. Similarly even more breath will be exhaled via an expletive each time we look as if we will shoot and don't. It really ain't easy being a Southend supporter is it? I'm not going to predict a starting XI, nor an outcome, I don't profess to be that clever. But IF we score I will be inhaling and exhaling in turn rapidly which will prove I'm still alive after the pleasant shock of ball hitting the onion bag. Good luck to the lads and Mark Molesley tonight and also to all you fellow sufferers on iFollow. COYB

I don't care how we do it but tonight is the actual definition of a 6 pointer.

A must win. Just get the ball in the net and get the points.

If we lose tonight then I'd say that's us done, not least because it means another club moves away from us.

Fwiw I think its between us, Grimsby and col u. Can't see Barrow, port Vale or walsall getting sucked in.

Lose heavy tonight and I firmly believe that it should be the end of MM. I don't dislike him but it's a results game and he has had time to get his house in order.

The time is now upon us where the points gap and games left has become something that will take a real good run to overturn. A few weeks back if we had nicked a win it wouldn't look quite so drastic. That being said I would like to see.

Ox
Demi white hobbo Clifford (if fit) Hart if not
Taylor
ANG Olay Reeco
Acquah Akinola
Olyinka? Mellis? Holmes? Egbri
We simply have to win tonight to any slim chance of staying up alive. Am I confident? Not overly. I’m more than happy to be proven wrong though.
Look I know we arent winning games and playing that well but there is still 30 odd points to play for? We only need to win a couple and we are right back in the mix! Still many ups downs and twists to come!!

We will win tonight

Think I'll get ifollow tonight! This is such a big game for us and walsall are there for the taking! There can be no excuses for mm he has a full squad to pick from he just needs to pick the best team available to him as long as it doesn't include acquah, demitriou, halford,or cordner.would be good to see egbri, mellis and olyinka start! But mm will continue to pick out of form players.

He doesn't have a full squad - Elvis on international duty, Ranger out injured, Cifford needs a fitness test,

THE BIGGEST GAME FOR AT LEAST FIFTY YEARS - so says a Walsall fan. In our case it could arguably be termed the most important match in 101 years since we joined the EFL in 1920.

If we win this game we will be five points behind Walsall and four points behind the sheepy folk and in a much stronger position with an improved chance of survival.

If we lose we will be eleven points behind them and they will be virtually safe, only the sheepy folk will remain within our sights (assuming they lose to Tranmere tonight - and they better lose to you, you Wirral Wizards!).

A draw would prolong our agony but we would be in an even weaker position than we currently are.

Walsall's fans don't hold out much hope for their team tonight and many fear they will be relegated. Let's turn their fears into reality. COYB!!!!!

Always difficult to tell solely from iFollow but Ferguson, even though he lacks mobility, looks to me like he reads the game well.

I'm not even sure he lacks mobility, he just seems to read the game quicker and so is already in position and isn't left chasing the game.

Playing a 4-2-3-1 you need a firm base in midfield and he's made us solid in midfield and with it defence. He's performing his role. I think we've conceded something like 5 goals in the 777 minutes he's played for us - we conceded 4 in the 45 minutes before he made his debut. We now need those in front of him - which hopefully can now include Olayinka again - to perform their role and create things at the other end.

Desperate times require desperate measures. I have backed Grimsby, C*l U and Walsall to win tonight (the treble pays just over 30/1). As I am such a poor gambler there is no chance of that happening.

That’s subject to opinion though, I’m sure MM will pick the best team he thinks can beat tonight’s opponents.. I hardly think he does otherwise. Out of interest, in your opinion what is the best team he can select tonight?

Olyinka? Mellis? Holmes? Egbri

Whilst I agree that even after tonight there is still plenty of points to play for, tonight’s opponents are in even worse form than ourselves. Fail to beat these and my confidence that we’ll beat anyone else this season diminishes somewhat.

If we were losing games 3-2 or regular score draws I’d say we would have q chance to stay up. However we’re not scoring or even looking like scoring and until that changes we’re going out of the league this season end of.

Last 10 games we have absolutely nothing to lose. Draws aren’t any good so we have to go all out to win. Might as well go down fighting imo.

Oxley.-

Demi, White, Hobson, Clifford.

Egbri, Ferguson, Deing, Hacket-Fairchild.

Acquah, Akinola.
