I've been looking forward to this game for a while as an opportunity to really test the team and coaching staff against, supposedly, the best team in the League. I'm not even going to attempt a selection as that's Kev's job.

All I ask for on Saturday is 100% effort and an urgency that has been absent for a while. Sometimes, games like these can be a catalyst for an improvement in form and therefore an increase in points return, so come on Southend, time to go for it.

No doubt, if we lose, the pressure will increase on the coaching team, but if we do lose, it will be how hard we tried that will be the key for me. And I'll clap the team off at the end.

This is a real tricky one because I too was waxing lyrical about Morton but this is the game I probably wouldn't play him in. He is great when we dictate the tempo and we have the ball, but I feel in this fixture this won't happen. He should have played in the last game and Miley should have come in for this one.

Like @Yorkshire Blue stated, the left side midfield role has not been addressed. The argument would be that if Miley is to play, put Morton on that left side. However, I've said countless times that he doesn't work in the 8. For me, it's in the 6 role or nothing. Therefore, because of his work rate, Husin may get the nod on that side. Whether we agree with that or not is a different story but one thing is for sure, a three of Coker, Miley and Husin will work a lot harder as a unit than the three that played together against Altrincham.

I think it will be:

Jeacock
Taylor, Crowther, Ralph
Gus, Coker, Miley, Husin, Bridge
Pepple, Bonne

I think it's been a big step up for Crowther and I feel for him because it took Kensdale a while to get up to speed and Crowther has had to come in unexpectedly and play a lot of games. He has Doidge, Quigley, Cardwell and McAllister all to worry about. Massive task ahead.

I said when he went there that it was a no brainer for Cardwell. Huge pay rise, promotion contenders and fantastic facilities. Anyone that boos him is moronic. He always gave everything for us, many times playing through injuries. He could have left when we really were in an awful mess, but he didn't. I'll always have respect for that. Please do the right thing and show that same respect.

I would be very surprised if Maher drops Miley now, and brings back both Morton and Coker. The only change I can see is Morton for Moncur (which will be awful).

I really hope I'm wrong!

I'll be amazed if Harry Cardwell gets booed. He should be given total respect, in my opinion. The bloke was immense for us last season.
I totally agree, but there's always a fraction that mindlessly boo. Ben Coker gets stick all the time and he was a fantastic servant for us. Just idiotic actions by a minority.

As you quite rightly state, he was immense and I hope the collective show that respect.

He better change the keeper. Jeacock has been a liability with coming off his line, shot stopping and distribution.

I was disappointed that he didn't thank the fans and club on his departure.

Just dissapeared.

It's even more dissapointing that he was our star man and yet doesn't even get a game in their team.

The only time he will get booed by me as if he scores and then gives it the big one.

He's had a couple of niggling injuries. Also, the other strikers are playing really well and scoring. Once he's 100% fit, he will get more starts.
