It's Thursday morning & I am re-invigorated for the next match, anything is possible AND one game soon we WILL perform to a high standard and get a promotion drive really moving along, and Bury would be the ideal place to start.

I expect PB to select the same again line up with Adam in for Luke.

I hope PB makes subs after a committee meeting and vote with Mr Penney and Cocko giving their collective opinions.

3-0 Blues and a performance such as last seen away at Rochdale last season.

Expecting Barrett for Prosser and Atkinson for Hurst. Would prefer to see Deegan replace Kevan freeing Lenny to attack more freely.

Not going as working, but will be listening in! Predicting a 2-1 victory, with Piggott and Lenny scoring.

Feeling slightly disillusioned at the moment. Fully expecting we will plod along and lose in the play offs.

Hope the boys can turn it around.

A visit to the NW last year about this time produced a stunning away win at Rochdale. Murphy on loan from Canaries got one playing wide right. Wonder if our attacking target will sign and have an instant impact?

I desperately hope he plays Barrett, but bet he'll play BW.

I'm not sure I'd be "desperate" to see him play as we conceded 4 goals in the less than 2 hours League football he has played this year. Be great to see him do well but our track record with returning stars isn't good at present.

Interesting game this, not sadly for the reasons we may have hoped. A month ago this would have been viewed as a tussle between two titans of the division, going for promotion. Now, for us, I suppose ones wishes may depend on whom we would prefer to meet in the play-offs (presuming we get to them). This is a HUGE match for Bury, as a victory here would very much keep alive their hopes of overhauling Wycombe or Shrewsbury. For us, even an unlikely victory would, in reality, do little to rekindle our automatic hopes..............but it would firmly cement us in a play-off place.
The importance of a victory for Bury..........will that make them nervier?.......an early goal is certainly what they would like. As for us, the prospect and the pressure of automatic promotion virtually exstinct, will we play with more freedom and flair?
In answering my earlier question, I think I'd prefer to meet Wycombe in the play-offs as opposed to Shrewsbury or Bury..........so, strangely, a defeat here wouldn't ruffle me too much...........as long as we give a good account of ourselves. We wait to see any possible addition to the side but we have certainly been a little weakened by the (temporary) loss of Hurst and Prosser. Hoping that Hurst's injury won't be one of those that drags on and on. I was a great fan of Barrett and never doubt his valour and commitment to the club.............now I just question his age and speed and pray that Bury have no one particularly quick in their attack. I see a 1-0 or 2-1 defeat.

I've got the lads done for a 4-1 victory on the prediction league and I've pinned the wildcard on the game as well. Regardless of who PB fields, the result is a foregone conclusion...................................................there is something very therapeutic about writing this sort of thing, it gives me a warm feeling. Side seems to pick itself and thats what I would have gone with prior to the new loanee coming in. Think Atkinson might make way.

First visit back to Gigg Lane for me since May 1991, and we know what happened that year. Adam Barrett might play the Pat Scully role on Saturday ..... oh s**t!

new lad to start as well as Barrett

Bentley
White Thompson Barrett Coker
Worrall (1) Leonard Tims McLoughlin
Corr Pigg

1-1 with worrall scoring vs his boyhood team

Ah the memories.

Maybe a scuffed cross from Worrall and a turn and shot from the :pig: would be just what's needed!

Fair comment, though I'd fancy him ahead of BW.

I'm finally getting to another game. i have a pretty good away record, last one I went to was Oxford. hoping thus new lad pings a couple onto the head of Corr and Pigott and have a feeling Worrall will have a good game this weekend. Going 3-1 southend

I was going to go Bury 2-0 , but if the new loan signing starts it may give us a morale boost and the lads may be up for this so I will go 2-1 to us.

Even at his peak-a very long time ago-when he snaffled a lucrative 4 year contract to stop him going up the A12 to the pigs-Barrett was not as good as Binnon-Williams and yes I saw the bad game(20 mins, actually)he had v Accrington ,when idiots started jeering him after 2 misplaced passes.
