Echo News Southend United looking to sign QPR striker on month-to-month loan deal

I've seen him at Dartford and don't understand how anyone can make a judgement on him and his abilities, let alone make comparison's of him with other players, whether that be positive or negative. Give the kid a fair chance please. I briefly met him at Meet the Blues Day, he stopped and had a photo with my little boy and he seemed a really nice young lad, that's all I can possibly and fairly, say.

Oh great...get in an Acquah just as useless replacement and release Holmes a quality player whatever the bitter and twisted Ron lovers say.

How long before Phil walks, Martin will never change hence we are now a mid table Conference side. Holmes wants to be here but Ron has only got a cup of tea and a ham roll for the QPR static tree....unbelievable how he gets away with turning a League one well supported side in to a cheap old pile of averageness!

I despair at some of your comments

It's so hard to judge a player in preseason when the teams are changed so much and there is no continuity whatsoever. In the Wakering game, he played with 3 or 4 other trialists. No cohesion at all in the side to find your feet or rhythm.

Had he played in the Norwich game instead of Dalby, in a much more settled side, and a side that will probably reflect our team on Saturday, he may look totally different. He may not, we simply don't know and that's why the club have been smart with their contract offer.

Comparing him to Aquah is pointless. He had more than his fair share of chances and never looked anywhere near good enough. Again, this guy may not be, but he hasn't been given a fair enough chance to say otherwise yet.

Coz one is likely on a load of money and other practically free?
....but surely we are trying to get out of this League?
Feel like we are cut off from the world, and TV ,being down here already. Ron got us here and he needs to make an effort to get us back up....turning away Holmes, Akinola etc. and offering just about enough money for a kid is a joke!

I love it how everyone last season was talking about needing a big lump of a striker and now we are about to sign one everyone is moaning about it. You literally can't win on this forum can you?

And only a couple of years ago he was playing as a centre back so when we get injuries in defence we can use him there. Someone who is only on about £150 a week that's good value for money.

Apologise to the QPR man but it is so frustrating that Ron's chequebook is always the stumbling block.
FWIW think we have a very useful first 11 but Holmes and Akinola would have really given us a good chance of bouncing back and this team would not have gone down last year!
Based on what? What did you see in Holmes last season that made him look like the solution? He struggled to get in the team and when he did how many goals did he score or assist?

Same question about Akinola, he huffed and puffed but never seemed like the solution on his own

Harry Kane would have struggled to score in a M.M team....fact is P.B loves him and R.M's wallet didn't!
As for Akinola, he has done it in this League before...the young QPR bloke hasn't...once again Ron Martins empty wallet wins!
