Echo News Southend United given go-ahead to pay £300,000 to football creditors

it suggests theres loads of money in the frozen account. that cant be right surely?
Not necessarily. If I was lending money to the club to pay footballing debts, I’d have wanted the court application granted before I sent the funds to the club.

Lots about frozen accounts. There are no frozen accounts. They were unfrozen back in May/June.

NL requires us to pay football creditors in order to allow us to start the season with a licence and seem happy to then align with the court's date for the HMRC debt.

We're subject to a WUP, so if we need to pay other creditors who aren't on that petition (in this case, the football creditors), then we have to seek permission from the court. The court's permission is subject to the creditors on the WUP declaring that they are happy for somebody else to be paid whilst they are not. Reading between the lines, I'd say the WUP creditors are given time to decide on their stance and haven't yet declared, hence the delay.
