Southend United chairman Ron Martin: I should have sold Bilel Mohsni to West Ham Unit

If we went back with 250k cant blame him for that.

Showing your true colours now are you :winking:

Can't blame him for wanting more and can see the logic in a Premiership club upping their offer by an extra 150k. Didn't Blackpool offer around 150k-250k in January, can't remember the figure off the top of my head.

'West Ham Unit'

Sounds like an area of a mental institution for the particularly sick and disturbed patients.

What if our old mate Bil turns up at Boots & Laces / Roots Hall each day , in order to avoid breach of contract + therefore we have to pay him ( back of the queue son , the others players aint getting paid either )

... anyway , if Bil does turn up .... what job should he be given , to earn his corn ?

How about Frankie Banks' old role in the community , he's good with kids + old people ( its just other players he's no good with )

...or maybe ....

Le prepose de toilette ( bog cleaner )

A previous poster on SZ stated that he knew about issues that in his professional opinion meant that Moshni did not have the right personality to be a professional footballer - can anyone remember who it was as it appears that they were 100% correct with their opinion.

If in the extremely highly unlikely event that Bilel turns up, which he has insisted won't happen, then he will just be told to stay away, and will just collect his wage until the end of the season.

Mohsni my friend you are such a bellend

You will never play championship or premier league!

Your attitude is a disgrace

At least Martin has come out and admitted his mistake,as for Moshni he has handled this very badly and why he is a talented player we are better off without him.He isnt doing his career any good at all.

Breaking news - The Titanic should have avoided that iceberg

The reason the Titanic sunk was because it was trying to avoid the ice berg - veering to the left causing the berg to rip a huge gash in the side of the ship - if however the ship had struck the berg head on, it would have caused minimal damage and would probably have gone on to complete it's voyage

He's right y'know:thumbsup:

Not often I defend Ron these days, but what mistake did he make ?

If he had accepted 100k he would have been slaughtered for it. I dont think asking for 250k was unreasonable, if thats the real amount, so not sure what he did wrong withouth the power of hindsight?

Such a shame a talent like his might be forgotten!

Good to know that he wont cost the club money when he returns though...and it is nice to hear the story from Ron as well. I think he had every right to ask for 250k.

I tend to agree with you as the buck stops with hum ultimately, but perhaps he should have asked Luggy his opinion, and also taken the advice of his then CEO.

A recurring theme appears to be that it's better to have something rather than nothing.

But again, that's all with the power of hindsight. Sturrock's often waxed lyrical of Bilel's ability, as have many of us at times, and it wasn't so long ago that there was uproar at Blackpool offering £150,000 that was mocked as derisory. If RM had sought the advice of Sturrock and the CEO, it's highly likely that he would've been advised to tell West Ham where to go.

Yes, with hindsight, we should've snatched Allardyce's hand off for £100,000, but nobody at the club has that power. Unless of course I've missed us appointing Captain Hindsight as Director of Football, which I don't think I have.

Moshni would have been worth that sort of money but with his very questionable temperement 100k up front then add ons at a later date would have been ok deal.Your right in that he did this without the benefit of hindsight. Taking 100 k up front is much better than getting nothing for him.The fact that no one seems to want too buy him backs this up.
