Exeter are losing............just saying, not like we can make the play offs anymore but exeter are losing

The funny thing is, I don't think it's over. Southend has a weird way of staying alive in things and then not doing it in the last game. It wouldn't surprise me if we beat Fleetwood on Monday then win one or two more and go on a run.

If Exeter, Fleetwood and Burton all lose today, hope is not all lost.

So Exeter have lost but the reality of the table right now with 6 to play is:-

12 points off Northampton

10-13 points off Burton

6-9 points off Cheltenham

8-11 points off Rotherham

7-10 points off Exeter

With the games we each have left we are chasing that down along with Bradford, Fleetwood & Chesterfield. The only team I can see perhaps slipping out of the play-off's is Cheltenham, possibly Exeter, but realistically its really where those five end up in positions 3-7. I would be very surprised if us or any of the other three I've mentioned sneak into the play-off's.

All we can do is try and win all our remaining games and see which, if any, of the opposition teams fail.

I'll put it up later. Just waiting on the final few matches but Exeter and Cheltenham are the one's we need to rely on to struggle. They battle against each other, they have tough matches remaining and are the likely one's to falter. However all this is pointless if we don't win at least 4 matches and beat Fleetwood on Monday.

SOUTHEND CAN’T MAKE THE PLAYOFF WITH 7 POINTS
* NOTE: Fleetwood and Burton haven't finished yet so the brackets indicate what would happen if the team lost, won or draw. So the bracket is the result if a team (L, D, W) hope that helps.

Observations from me: 12 points would make it interesting but highly unlikely unless a team collapsed. 15-18 points and the whole thing is really, really possible. Will still keep it updated regardless of what happens Monday or for the rest of today.

I don't believe we will make the playoffs but I have just completed a league two predictor. If and its a huge IF, we win every game until the end of the season, we can make the playoffs. This is literally our last chance - if we pick up maximum points we can do it. However, if we drop a single point then it cannot be achieved. Looking at our fixtures, its not mental to suggest we can win every game - they are all perfectly winnable but so too have been our previous games. Let's just cheer on the blues starting with a huge 3 points on Monday.

Forget it............we've still got Aldershot away.........they're bound to screw us again. :'(

If getting into the play-offs relied solely on our competitors, I'd feel a touch more confident after today's results. It's just a pity our form counts as well.:'(

I know it's pretty much done and dusted but we're still mathematically alive. Here it is Southend United – NOW 10[SUP]th[/SUP] with 57 points with 5 games remaining.

Here are the scenario's if Southend United get 15 points:

(72 is the magic number)

Port Vale would need to get 2 points to beat us

(70 is the magic number)

Burton would need to get 4
Northampton would need to get 3

Cheltenham would need to get 3

Exeter would need 8

Rotherham would need 7

Fleetwood would need to get 11

We'd also need Bradford to not get 13 or Chesterfield to get 14

We'd also need Bradford to not get 12 or Chesterfield to get 13 or Bristol Rovers to get 15 .

PLAYOFFS we'd need 4 or less of these teams to get those points.

If Southend get 11 points (3 wins and 2 draws)

(68 is the magic number)

Burton would need to get 2
Northampton would need 1

Cheltenham would need to get 1

Exeter would need 6

Rotherham would need 5

Fleetwood would need to get 9

We'd also need Oxford to not get 13 points, Bradford to get 11, Chesterfield to get 12 , Bristol Rovers to get 14

PLAYOFFS we'd need 4 or less of these teams to get those points.

If Southend get 10 points (3 wins and 1 draw and 1 loss)

(67 is the magic number)

If Southend get 9 points (3 wins 2 losses)

(66 is the magic number)

Exeter would need 4

Rotherham would need 3

Fleetwood would need to get 7

We'd also need Oxford to not get 11 points, Bradford to get 9, Chesterfield to get 10, Bristol Rovers to get 12, Wycombe to get 15

PLAYOFFS we'd need 1 or less of these teams to get those points.

PLAYOFFS we’d need 1 or less of these teams to get those points

If Southend get 7 points it would be almost impossible to get into the playoffs.
