Brown said in the interview "Coxy struggled on his own against two six foot three centre halves" No **** Sherlock. So have all the other forwards you continually ask to play up front on their own.

When I got home after the match I heard a very accurate analysis by Glenn Pennyfather. He was basically saying that there was little passion on show and no zip or pace in the team. As he says, it is difficult to know who to blame as we do not know what goes on within the four walls of the dressing room. It is either the manager and coaching staff or is it down to the players. Something is wrong somewhere.

Ahh...I spy a role for Brian Horton!

Did we not produce a scouting report on Fleetwood prior to the game? How could he have not known that Cox would be up front on his own against two six foot three centre halves if he played him as as a lone forward? Did he not even bother looking into Fleetwood from a tactical perspective? Or did he just decide to chuck Cox up front anyway and hope for the best because he doesn't have any other ideas?

It all sounds pretty dire. Every time he opens his mouth he infuriates me more. Thank you for letting us know we can blame you for the poor results, but we were anyway. More importantly, why are there poor results and what are you going to do to change it? No point stating the bleeding obvious. Give us a bit of honesty.

Poor game. Biggest problem in my opinion was how isolated Cox was today. He's a little lad and needs support around him, a proper target man. Bridge didn't support him at all today and it caused us all sorts of problems creatively. We desperately need a proper strike partner for him, such a shame that Ranger got injured.

On another sour note, booing a player as they're being subbed on (Mooney) is pathetic and does nothing but demoralize them. Unfortunately a large section of East Yellows decided at 0-1 that they would spend the rest of the game booing every time one of our players made a mistake. I can fully understand their frustrations, but it does nothing to help the team to see/hear that. Save it for the final whistle.

Perhaps the only positives to take from that game is that we've signed what seems like a very talented and experienced CB which was sorely needed. And we seem to be looking to add at least 1/2 more before next week! Let's hope things improve.
After today's performance,I'd say we need to sign another 10 players to go alongside Ferdinand!!!:winking:

I've heard on BBC Essex radio that our own fans were boooing Cox also?? anyone on here that was at the game today to either confirm or deny that?

If so, I'm a bit disappointed by that considering his new and was playing up front on his own and getting no service.
I didn't hear any boos directly aimed at Cox (that would be ridiculous), it was more just general booing.

Just seen Fleetwood's 1st goal on SSN, to be fair it was a real peach of a goal. The 2nd one on the other hand looked like it should have been saved, and our defence looked asleep.

So where are PB's staunchest defenders on SZ after an abject performance like this.....hello?.........hello?

Why do people feel the need to try to create themselves opponents to argue with?

Is it not enough to have a go at the manager and team that supporters need to make an effort to have a go at each other?

How many people have actually been defending him this season? Not many.

It's the lack of fight the lack of urgency and the lack of passion and aggression that gets my back up.

I've seriously seen much better tempo and pressure on and off the ball watching Sunday league football.

Doesn't matter how much quality you bring in if the mindset is just not right.

I watched burton v derby last night and burton simply out worked derby to 3 points and were to a man magnificent.

I was prouder of that performance than I have been of any of ours in quite a while.

I was a bit confused at the time why Oxley was getting booed for the first goal, can't have helped his confidence and it wasn't deserved, hard low shots are very tricky to save. 2nd goal should have been a routine save though.

I agree about the first goal, very difficult to stop that one. As for the second, I feel that both Barrett and Oxley could have done more to stop it. Should never be letting him score from there!

For those stat minded people; do you remember the enjoyment of a Saturday afternoon victory, which set you up nicely for watching the Channel 5 goals and then MOTD? No, can't remember it? I am not surprised.

Last Saturday afternoon win anywhere :- March 12th 2-0 at Barnsley
Last Saturday afternoon win at home :- FEBRUARY 6th v COLCHESTER

Hopeful Stat:-

Last Saturday afternoon game with Phil Brown in charge :- August 27th v Fleetwood

RE: Booing Cox.

Thanks to all for the feedback.

I knew there was more of a logical explanation than what was reported on BBC Essex. Even by the benchmark booing that the East Stand normally create, sounded out of character.

Just for the record. I was bang In line with the goal fleetwood score and was flagged offside.

Fella was two yards on and they had a good goal ruled out.

Not sure why their other goal was ruled out. Looked good aswell.

Basically could have ended 4 or 5-0 quite easily.
