There is good footage when Timlin broke down left on about the 03:00 minute mark. You can see that Ranger doesn't react/anticipate when the keeper pushes the ball out. Would a fully fit Ranger have got on the end of that ?...He certainly looked like he was 'managing' himself last night.

That was typical Timlin wasn't it. Sometimes his passing last night was off, but his tracking and desire was immense. A great squad member , same as White. Just to look around at all 11 last night they all wanted it and gave their all, that's all you can ask from players isn't it, they really couldn't give anymore.

FWIW thought Bolton defended very well last night and there is a reason they are in that top 2 and championship bound.

As for us, brilliant team performance very unlucky and deserved at least a point, but it wasn't to be.

White & Robinson my 2 mentions for MOTM. Both were brilliant in my opinion, White didn't put a foot wrong and for an attacking player Theo really works hard going back the other way too.

Fully believe if we play like that in 3 of the remaining 5 games, we will pick up 9pts which should be enough for us to be in the play-offs.

Can't wait till Saturday now to put things right at Charlton

And the award for the most BS quote by an opposition manager goes to that **** Parkinson.

"We probably had the better chances towards the end of the game and I don't think anybody here tonight could deny that we deserved the win"

I always remember when he told BBC Essex Colchester were the better side, we won 3-0 inside 30mins!

Disappointed we didn't test the keeper more on second half. Once he fumbled that shot from Cox his confidence seemed to drain but we barely got a shot on target.

Yes they may not catch the eye or get paid as much as Cox, Ranger and Ferdinand but the lads that have been with us the longest have really done us proud so far.

Thompson and Atkinson have had their best season so far and as we witnessed last night Timlin and White are true professionals when called upon, both playing out of position against a top side. I know PB said a few weeks back that some of his squad might not want the Championship because they may not get anew contract but I saw none of that last night.

Who needs a revolving door loan system when we have those four lads to call our own. Charlton here we come.

Ranger MOM for me , gave everything over 90 minutes+, excellent in defence with saving headers time and time again, frequently got back, even standing on the goal line then charging up field. Won some great headers upfront against some even bigger blokes, especially the experienced Wheater. A little isolated especially in the first half when we were pinned back If thats how he plays carrying a slight knock, we have still to see the best?

Jet lagged as hell having only been back in the UK for about 5 hours, I made it to my first home game since Morecambe 2013, obviously the team has changed somewhat since then. PB had only just taken over back then and hadn't yet set about reshaping the team from Luggy's image.

I was mostly impressed with what I saw last night against a decent yet physical Bolton team. Adam LeFondre at Bolton now? wow, his career has gone backwards quickly. He still looked a threat at this level though. First half we did seem to run out of ideas and resort to hoofing it in Theo and Rangers direction, which Boltons big back line just ate up easily.

At halftime I would have taken a point, at 89 minutes I might have still taken a point even though we had created some chances in the second half. My Dad could see us slipping to a late defeat as soon as McGlashan gave away the free kick.... and that's exactly what happened.

All in all, the team looks in rude health compared to 2013, in spite of a patched up back line. The loan keeper looks very decent, unlucky with his header at the end (Never thought I'd write that in a sentence about a keeper). I had only seen Ranger on the youtube clips, didn't appreciate just what a big powerful lump he is.

After watching the Thai league for a little while, watching League One seemed like I was watching football on 4x fast forward. Great atmosphere last night, impressive turnout from Bolton for a Tuesday night also.

A useless piece of Trivia, Last night must be the first time Theo and Dervitte have shared the pitch at Roots Hall since 2009 I think?

My first evening game for 5 years. Was surprised how many blues fans were still on the train at Stratford.

A gutsy performance where everyone gave 110%. The first half we seemed a bit lost as so many players were adjusting to new roles. The second half we gave a really good go but actually hardly tested their keeper. A pity Coker was injured as we had to change midfield a lot more than Timlin just slotting into Leonards role. Disappointing that our leading goalscorer had to drop back into midfield and McLaughlin is not yet any where near the player he was before he got injured.

Another special mention for John White who as Brown said, for the third time, was outstanding in the centre back position. Shame he didn't start the game.

We got what we expected from Bolton set pieces and their giants and the clever Morais and Le Fondre. Beevers has now scored in each of their last 5 away games and between them he and Wheater have 14 goals. In the end we gave away 1 free kick and 1 corner too many -not helped by two of theirs falling into each other and preventing anyone getting out to block Beevers. We were so unlucky - McGlashan is not the best defender!

Coker could have medial ligament damage - we could be a bit light at the back if Ferdinand continues to struggle with his fitness. So it will have to be all out attack for the rest of the season!

I think Mcglashan getting a bit of stick for the foul is a bit harsh. The goal didn't come from that free kick but the corner after. Therfore, we had two opportunities to clear the ball.

Let's not forget it was his run and pass to Ranger that led to the penalty appeal last night. Had the pen been given, he would have assisted that.

Additionally, in the previous game, Mcglashan came off the bench and changed the game and contributed massively to us winning.

Wingers tracking back isn't the ideal situation but these things happen. Let's stick with him and the rest of our lads. I thought the collective played really well last night, baring in mind the circumstances. We move on.

UTB!

people are just stating facts, brown said the same thing. We knew what a threat they were from set pieces which makes the foul even more stupid

No disrespect to Ted, great keeper, but this lad Walton is mustard . Do we have to tell the truth to the FA about Ted's wrist or can we just ask him to pull a sickie ?? How would they know ?!

Escape to victory had the right idea

cue bunk beds and missing slats

I read somewhere that we had to get confirmation from a specialist in London to confirm to the FA that Ted was indeed injured, as they wouldn't take local medics word for it.

So either Ted "takes one for the team" as per previously mentioned aka Escape to victory injury, or after the Charlton game Ted is back.

One thing (of many) that impressed me last night was Phil Brown's pre-match conference.

Not an excuse in sight about the decimation of our spine against one of the top teams, just a tub-thumping endorsement of the selected team's ability to go and get the points. I remember him talking about how Timlin would've covered for Lenny in the middle but, while Coker's injury made him rethink that, "he'd done a great job at left-back before and never let us down"; how Innis would serve us well as a great introduction to combat the aerial threat; and how the new look midfield would do a great job. Was really good to hear.

It's harsh to single out McGlashan for a silly free kick giving them an opportunity to send their big guns forward as I lost count of the amount of free kicks we gifted them last night

In that instance with McGlashan though I think Timlin was exposed for not being a defender as all he had to do was double up with McG and then the foul probably doesn't happen

we were robed but on to the next game.... We need another 3 wins from our last 5 to make sure. Millwall are my only concern now. As for the other chasing pack, the gap is too much with the games left to play.

Traffic delays on way back to Suffolk, bed way past midnight, up at 6, work all day, first chance to post.

As per many others, what a game! It was pure theatre.

Under the lights, Brown jumping about like a mad thing, heated exchanges with tosser Parky, Roots near to the brim, blood and thunder stuff on the pitch, game ebbed and (sort of) flowed, near misses, cracking performances, that Macca shot (just before he was subbed), top atmosphere, superb saves. Bolton knicked it but so what, they are a good team and in the end it should not impact on our play off hopes if we perform to our abilities and get an even hand on lady luck.

Charlton? Bring it on.

Yep, last night was all about why being in League 1 is so much better than League 2.

Just a whole different level, in every respect.
