Question Southend players with unique songs.

Theo let me see you get down low
Theo let me see you get down low
Head, shoulders, knees and toes...

We,ve got Terry Terry Terry Terry Johnson on the wing

Six foot 2 , eyes of Blue , big Bill garners after you

and I seem to recall a 60's tv advert amended for Billy Best

Then there was always Martyn Margetsons song (the authour of said ditty had one for Macca on Friday which was quite novel too)

Darryl Smith AKA one time Zoner The Flashing Blade used to come out with songs on a weekly basis

"Angell has glasses, Benji fuzzy hair
Brett and Ian are a striking pair" was one that has stuck in my mind despite being a woeful effort in all honesty

Surely the best and obviously one - 'Who put the ball in the Bury net'.....

Always disappointed 'The only way is Jupp' never really took off....

I did try.

We also tried a rendition of I would walk 500 miles to see Tes Bramble score. But alas it never went further than the Spread.

Seem to recall this classic got an outing at Darlington a few years back.

We sung it just before he took and missed a pen.

Didn't Jay Smith have a song to the chorus of Can't Take My Eyes Off You, which went:
"We love you Jay Smith,
we think you're quite alright,
we love you Jay Smith
despite your lack of height"

Later recycled for Nicky "Judas" Bailey.

Yep, couldn't remember how the Bailey chant went. OK, how about the "oooh, Andy Ansah" chant. Did we repeat that 'tune' for any other player?

Said this a while ago and will try and find the link to the thread I made with some suggestions.

Something about livin' on a prayer and Sawyer.

And Dougie being a Cameleon.

No need to find it now :)

Dont know about you lot but I get so sick of the same old songs for footballers. You know the one "Duh Duh Duh Duh, Freddy Eastwood / Dougie Freedman / Pepe N'Dyaide etc etc.

I am looking for Southend players who were so liked or dislkied they had there own tune and chant.

1) Chris Powell - Never seen another Southend player get "Wiggle it - Just a little bit".

This is probably not an original either but I would prefer "Dougie, dougie, dougie" to Kaiser Chiefs Ruby for Freedman.

Surely the best and obviously one - 'Who put the ball in the Bury net'.....

Always disappointed 'The only way is Jupp' never really took off....

Now sung for Francy Moussa and Col U net so no longer original sadly....

Mrs Barry Labs and her friend still to this day sing a song about Marky Gower and how he lost his teeth in an apple...suffice to say it never caught on, but it is unique none the less.

Then there is her other song about Kevin Maher being from outer space.....

How about this:
And here's to you, Theo Robinson,
Southend loves you more than you will know.
Sign for us please, Theo Robinson.
Roots Hall holds a place for those who stay,
Hey, hey, hey
Stay and play!

Hooper loopy nuts are we
He'll show you what he can do with a load of balls and a football boot

I remember around 90,000 fans singing this and going crazy at the friendly with Vitesse Arnheim.

How about:

His name is Rio and he looks like Julius Caesar
His name is Rio and he scores another goal

Dont think you'll be needing anymore clues who that one was for.
