Southend "Half time" Legends.

I swear people don't read the first post! It says:

TWO LEGENDS
and
TWO LEGENDS IN YOUR EYES!

But people still seem to put down as many as they want!

Aw c'mon! Can we help it if the club is spoilt for legends!!!! Or is it just that we're easily impressed!!

Ah but here is one for the soccer base boff's. How many of the legends in question mentioned throughout this thread have featured for their country?

peter watson and sam mccrory.closely followed by ron pountney ,chris powell, john mckinven and phil chisnell.

Yes, Peter Watson ... great player 'til the double vision set in.

Tried to get a trial at the club for his young brother. Turned down flat. His brother went on to play 65 times for England.

ps ..... you might at least spell your legends correctly!

pps ..... whilst on the subject of the excellent, even legendary, Phil Chisnall, he was one for the record books. He played in the very first Match of the Day watched by a massive 20,000 viewers on BBC 2. He played in Liverpool's first ever European match and he remains the last player to move directly between Man Utd and Liverpool.
