Interesting.

So is Roxy a foxy Shrimpette then?

Think we need some photographic proof on here.

Maybe could be the start of the Shrimpette Awards?

Right, can I just nip this all in the bud, right now!
Unfortunately, no I am not a 'foxy Shrimpette' - far from it.
Any posting of pics will result in lots of neg rep all round.;)

we been welcomed back by many sets of fans, pub owners and stewards but we dont bang on about them,so why Southampton?

Stockport,Bristol Rovers,Yeovil,Swindon,Tranmere sare just a few where we been made welcome by the fans, pub owners and stewards and am sure some would agree with me

I know other clubs make us welcome, but it's the fact that there are more Southampton supporters that makes it more special I think. It's more noticeable because it's magnified in volume and vision.

Did you get your trousers sorted out anyway?! ;)

And it was a WHITE outfit Dave - surely you weren't that pie eyed were you?!

Back on topic (FWIW) I wasn't there on Saturday (I had other committments) but I was there for our Championship bow-out. We won a lot of cred that day on what was an emotional occasion in light of Alan ball's death by joining in with the tributes so well.

Add to that the fact that the game was meaningless to both teams, the size of the crowd compared to what we're generally used to and especially our end of season party atmosphere and it's hardly surprising that we'd have a banging time with a bunch of fans who seem to love us.

If we had been head to head with Southampton for the last playoff spot on Saturday, I'm sure the atmosphere would have been different. Not necessarily violent, possibly intimidating in terms of the tension.

My point is that those who've said it's no different to some other away trips are sort of right; it's just that our last away trip is always a bit of a party wherever we go, all the more so if it's a meaningless game. We've had Southampton away last game twice in recent seasons, both games were meaningless. Southampton fans do probably think we're the best bunch of fans around; but if we'd played them on a wet Tuesday in February, they may not think that so strongly.

Perspective, people!

P.S. Can I add my sig to the list of petitioners for a Shrimpettes gallery please? Roxy, just go for it girl. I think.

3 important points raised by our resident weatherman.
