As a lefty type i know that humor is not your strong point but even so im a bit miffed at your 1%clairty rating,i feel worse than Greece.
The main point about this thread is in my eyes not the small amount raised for diabetis uk(which is of course great and will help) but the raising of awareness, iloveshrimp chipped in so he is aware,mk has a step son so i hope and im sure he is aware, but others will read this thread and maybe it will enlighten them to the dangers of not treating diabetis with the respect it needs, looking at true blue here.
I was told when i was 33 about the complecations but choose to ignore the doctors and nurses because i knew more than them,i diddnt and ive suffered,i hope others dont and that includes the orginal posters brother.
A cure is just round the corner with stem cell reasearch but for me im just glad i went to hospital to get to a managable level.

Berrichonne shrimper, I wish you, and all who have diabetes well.

I say this from the bottom of my heart as my son has type one diabetes, and I hope that the stem cell treatment becomes available soon (like yesterday). Though from my research it seems to quite far away at the moment.

Both my other half and my dad are type 2 sufferers and I know several other sufferers, some of whom are type 1. Whilst I wish well to all, I have to say the track is not my cup of tea however, if the club can be persuaded then all well and good.

Diabetes can be debilitating and is most often life-changing. Most scary is the unknown diabetic that presents in Accident & Emergency in a state of Diabetic Keto-Acidosis, because his blood has turned almost into an acidic goo due to a lack of insulin - all because of poorly controlled diabetes. I've been working in Accident & Emergency for only 6 months and have seen countless cases like this - and let me tell you - it's a medical emergency that'll even have the consultants sweating.

This is a fantastic cause and I for one will be purchasing, and asking my colleagues and companions to do so too. Good on you, mate.

its for a good cause purchased it and it will good to hear it through the speakers at the hall hopefully tomorrow
