I sit front row behind the goal, the view is brilliant and you can abuse the opposition close up.

Bit dangerous in the pre-match shooting at the goal exercise ---- ask Beermonster who got smashed in the face a good while ago.

We have you to protect us Ken

I like it in the South Upper, used to be good when you where able to walk round and sit up there from the West. It was also good when you could buy Season Tickets in the Family stand and then move to wherever you wanted, until they put those bloody barriers up.

That was done for a specific AND VERY VALID REASON, to stop people taking advantage of the concessionary prices that families receive then sitting elsewhere

speaking from my experiences having sat in all four stands over the years, its easily the best view in the ground and normally a good atmosphere there too, just a shame the acoustics at RH are not great apart from the North Bank, and scott will defo say the best atmos is in the west but you honestly cant hear the other stands from the south

Me too - now in the family stand due to the good rates for season tickets - however much prefer the view from the South Upper. However I am getting quite attached to the added excitement of having posts in the way (you sometimes have defenders who lurk behind them!) so when we move to the Fossetts Horeshoe I might wear a pair of glasses with a line painted on the lens to recreate the effect!

Quick report from my first game in south upper, after finally warming up! ( im sure its windier up there than the west)

Have to admit that once the initial claustrophobia feeling went, myself and my missus thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere up there , the views were good and it was nice to wind up the oppo's corner taker..

But more importantly i have to report that LDNFATSO behaved all game and was a model fan , abusing away players and ref like a true fan..
I did fear the worst when he nearly lost his pie over the side before the game even started though..

In all seriousness there are some good people in the South Upper many I have the honour and pleasure of being friends with!
