South upper on saturday

Lavender Blue

Youth Team ⭐⭐
I would just like to say a huge WELL DONE to all in south upper, you did a fantastic job at singing and making a noise, we did try in east but as usual it was just a few of us, and I was very disappointed with the west, as they were very quiet indeed :(

south was one of the better attempts to get a atmosphere going. had a barmy army chant going for about 5-10 mins. sounded pretty loud as well but probably wasn't. but good attempt.

yep good attempt but it would be good if the whole upper would sing together. 3 or 4 blocks next to me were singing one chant pretty loudly and you get the block to my left who decide to start a whole new chant. its things like this that make the atmosphere rubbish

funny i was in Block v of the west and did not hear the south at all. However, for a start the West sang and clapped constantly for the 1st 15 minutes of the 2nd half generated a good atmosphere......

just goes to show how crap the acoustics are in the ground really

is that what you have been reduced to now.......with your hands on experience you are a mobility scooter and zimmer frame parking attendant...:p

I never have aspirations at home matches other than helping the elderly such as Leeboy,Southminster and You to your seats and of course give you out your blankets.:p

Have you ever tried in the East?

As a "Weststander" we can never hear you
We try very hard, but only a few of us, we sound very loud to us :hilarious: but have realised long ago no one else can hear us, so we sing to ourselves quite happily each game, taking comfort from the fact that at least we know we're trying:p

Maybe the sound only travels to Block U then cos I can hear the South. Not as loud as they perhaps think everyone can hear em but nevertheless, I can hear em so good effort keep it going. Its the players we are lending our support to so it doesnt really matter who is loudest or not.

Cant ever hear the East tho but again thats not to say they dont make an effort.

perhaps you had your hearing aid in then and i didn't...:D

Guys, its not a competition, im just happy that theres an obvious improvement in noise levels within our own stands.

With a bit of fine tuning and a few more catchy chants im sure we can get the ground singing in unison eventually.

Keep it up chaps, we should all be proud of our efforts so far.

From the West stand block S
1. South Upper - Centre of the stand persistent and reasonably loud.
2. South Upper - West side - some good chants but not for long
3. West BV block - could hear you most of the time but more like background noise than grab your attention stuff.
4. West stand - family stand, showed willing but the higher pitch of the voices doesn't travel well!
5. East stand - a few whimpers

None of this is meant as criticism; just a reflection on the acoustics.

the obvious problem with the south upper is this - the centre try and sing the whole game hoping that others will join in. either side of the corners they also try but for some reason are always out of time and get fast very quick. then the dreaded bits in the middle between this centre and corners, this is where i sit and its full of moaners who only sing if we score. me and my cousin do our bit but honestly sit there singing on our own in this big section. this is exactly our problem. BUT sure enough as soon as we missplace a pass they get their voices back.
