Sour grapes??

Thats funny because our stadium will be built at the same time as yours and ready for Aug2010
Work starts in december. Then the sleeping giant will awake

Are you having a joke, to be a sleeping giant, you have to have been a giant in the first place.

Gaytowners surely have a preference for other than a mans game ?

My god what a bunch of bad losers you lot are.Not content with moaning, you slag our players off, criticize the ref and call us cheats etc etc.The sending off was justified and you were extreamly lucky not to have Revell sent off.You can't go into tackles showing studs etc.Remember what Hunt did to Cech? No wonder Kuipers reacted like that. You did play some very good football and i was impressed with Southend. But don't forget you were the home side and to call us ordinary is way off the mark.We defended brilliantly under pressure and played some good football ourselves. The second goal is as good as it gets and you had the delight of witnessing it at Roots Hall.Listen to the commentary on Virgin Media."Southend can't contend with this football"
Anyway i enjoyed the match and the 3pts obviously(cheers)
Good luck for the rest of the season,as for us the championship beckons once again.

BHAFC LEAGUE 1 CHAMPIONS 2009

This is exactly what i hate about football supporters. You say Revell should go, but Kuipers actions are justified? Thats just unbelievable. If Revell goes, Kuipers goes. Just admit that, please. I really don't think you should get carried away here spartan. Whilst Brighton look a good team i'm not sure you have the squad to challenge the likes of Leeds and Leicester. If the second goal is as good as it gets you haven't seen much. it was decent football, for sure, but we had ten men, and had done for the past half an hour, it wasn't the most crisp of passing and if i'm being honest our goalkeeper should have saved the rather feeble shot. We lacked a final ball all night and whilst your defence was resolute, it was by the skin of your teeth and wasn't tested to the extreme.

As for virgin media, they are not at the games and the commentators are told what to say by the editors of the footage. We outplayed you first half in terms of our passing and whilst for spells in the second half yours was good, we did have ten men. Good luck for the season but you are certainly not iinvincible as i'm sure we will demonstrate aginst you away and in the play-offs. Come end of season our two team will be bloody close IMO.

You obviously dont do you, that was Hunt'ss knee, he didn't go in studs up.

As for that last part I wouldn't be so cocky, you looked **** on friday and just because you've beaten one of the tops teams in the league doesn't mean much theres a long way to go.

What it was Justin Timberlake?

Always did know Brighton preferred men.

And you call yourself a sleeping giant.

God we have only played 3 games, you will not win the league mate

Not here to fuel the fire really, just to provide that not all BHAFC fans are up past their bedtime :P

you have to have been a giant in the first place.

Remind me what team has played in the top division in their history and what team hasn't?

And what team has been in an FA Cup final?

Tragic thing is, they really do believe it. They consider themselves to be rivals to Crystal Palace - honestly, I'm not making that up!

:D

Perhaps you would like to read the back story behind it

The game on friday night was indeed heated and scrappy, and from where I was in the away end Kuipers and Revell should both have gone off. I couldn't see the sending off as I had a post infront of me. I thought the game was going for a bore draw until then, but nevertheless I'm of course pleased with our 3 points (as people may, or may not know I know a few SUFC season ticket holders so I was able to return the many ribbings i've gotten in the past)

There is a bit of a feelgood factor around BHA right now, with the return of Micky and some decent signings (for once). This coupled with our good start to the season I think we deserve to be a little optimistic. I just want to see Championship football come to Falmer and a season ticket thats not in a long jump pit.

To save everyone a bit of time, try starting on page 2 ("In truth, the rivalry really only got going between Palace and Brighton in the seventies")

You have a better history than us yes but that in no way makes you a sleeping giant, you're more of a hyperactive dwarf.

A question for it's Neil, do you think Micky Adams has installed a 'professional' attitude into the team upon his return? I thought you came across as a thuggish, gamesmanship type of team, whingeing their way to winning, people like Forster and Virgo putting it about? That's not sour grapes, just an observation.

Just after your opinion, and just the way you came across to me.In some ways admirable, but not sure you will get away with it week in ,week out in the new 'respect' world if enforced.

Is Forster always that mouthy? Would he be so demonstrative at a place like Elland road?

To be fair, I doubt he would consider Swindon or Oxford a sleeping giant but was merely pointing out that they had, at one point, been good.

This quote makes me laugh:

In the replay Manchester United won 4–0, despite Brighton dominating the first twenty minutes of the match.

Love the caveat!

Micky Adams' teams are not usually pretty to watch, He always builds them on being solid and takes it from there. From where I was in the away end I couldn't see or hear much of what the players were saying.

And yes, Forster is always like that, home and away.

Well, look at the teams that have 'made it big' since getting a new stadium - Hopefully we (and yourselfs of course) can follow in the footsteps of the illustrious Reading and Hull, haha.

Thanks, such a noticeable change since you played us in March (or April), and top of the gamesmanship/thug league based on League 1 teams I've seen in the last year. You won't win friends, but maybe a good few points with lenient officials.

As for Forster, always surprised players like him on a permanent wind-up don't get their come uppance, or perhaps they do.

At least Forster isn't a diving ponce like so many other players in football! He gets under people's skin and feeds off the reactions.

To be fair, there has only been 3 games so far and I've not really seen enough to comment on the whole unsportsmanship thing, the side you played at the tail end of last season were noticably tired after all but ending the playoff hopes after losing to Port Vale at home 3 days prior.

Your visit last season was still fresh in the mind, I thought Forster went to ground very easily and that his antics could easily have more aggressive fans than SUFC seeking him out. Not seen that in a while from a player.

I was sitting along the touchline to your right and the verbals being dished out to the linesman were unbelievable, especially from Forster, we were surprised no yellows were flashed.

He got a yellow card in the end I think, but it was for a soft challenge.

To be honest, the amount of stick some players get from fans is just as bad. Who was your player last year that kept getting booked for being mouthy? McCormack?

He got booked for a very blatant bit of retaliation. That didn't go down well particularly considering that our lad a) was making his competitive debut b) the ball was nowhere near any more and c) the original tackle wasn't even that bad!

Ah, also, I think your being a bit narrow with McCormack's offences. I reckon by this time last year he'd managed to pick up his third yellow of the campaign.

We had two, Bailey (just been sold) and McCormack, but never directed it to the crowd, only to officials , and if you can't take stick off the crowd you should'nt be a footballer.

Youe average Southend player has been very 'honest' under Tilson's reign, sometimes annoyingly so bordering on naiveity, but the two with Chelsea connections seem well trained so will hopefully pass some of this on (did I really just type that?).

Just seems a requirement to be 'professional' in the modern game, Adam's team seem wel drilled, I will watch your results with interest.

As for Forster, I won't have much sympathy if he gets done on or off the pitch by whoever, he has been asking for it and must realise that .

I'm not personally aware of McCormack's bookings, all I remember seeing on the BBC live score page was his name next to a yellow for dissent an awful lot :)

Neil, do you think Kuipers is particularly dodgy ? Seems to have been with you a long time, I'm surprised Adams has not signed a giant.
