He talks a good game, but turned out to be one of Southend's weirdest managers. I thought he was going to be good after what he achieved at Macclesfield.

Given that RM did not allow him to sign any new players, it is difficult to fairly assess Sol Campbell's time at Southend. He probably made his own life more difficult than it should have been at our beloved club, but he was also basically shafted by the former Chairman when it came to recruitment of players.

I remember the excitement when he came in, and then coming to the Trust's AGM happily as our Q&A guest. And then it all basically went t*ts up when Covid hit. I agree it's probably not best to judge him on what happened around that time, but he really didn't help himself with his weird behaviour.
