So who do we have to thank for this exciting end to the season ?

If we're laying blame how about Flavs throwing the ball in the air after gathering from a Wolves cross (shot?) allowing them to score early on at the Molineux
Can't believe the win over Man U wasn't added!
Spinners own goal against .........?
Clarke own goal against Birmingham which set in my opinion the turnaround win for the club

Other than perhaps temporarily boosting morale , I can't see how this affected our league position

Were in this position because our strikers arnt scoring, i'm talking about eastwood aswell. Were having to rely on our midfield and flavs to pull of world class saves. We might aswell shove Kev and Gower up-front.

our goalscoring has let us down but also our defending for most of the 1st half of the season was shocking

we weren't scoring and defending poorly, don't take a rocket science to work out what that means.

A bunch of players who have worked hard to grind out some results, some great away support, the confidence Ron Martin showed by extending Tilson's contract at a time when 40% of the people on here were saying sack him, Macca's central influence, Barrett and Clarke improving with every game they play against superior opposition, a whole load of teams above us being truly dire (we should have been down weeks ago if they were any cop) and i honestly believe passing the ball on the ground. When we hoof it we look terrible. I think Tilson's desire to play "good football" is why we're still competing even at the death after being down and out at Christmas

when have 40% of fans wanted him out?

Fair enough, I didn't know there was a poll on it - must have missed that one. But there were A LOT of threads about sacking him and him being at fault for the size of our squad, our lack of loan signings etc. Maybe 40% was just how the balance seemed to me.

Regardless, i think showing faith in the guy definitely galvanised the team a bit more and made them all feel a bit more secure

Why arent they scoring though ?

How many chances are they actually getting to score ?

Very easy to blame the strikers for a lack of goals but in my opinion thats oversimplifying it. The team needs to create chances for them to score and nearly all of Eastwoods goals he has to create himself.

We get loads of chances to score and lots do come to eastwood but 90% of the time he is offside. Hardly any of his goals this season he has created himself.

Sorry but I think you are wrong about us creating loads of chances, quite simply we don't. We create next to bugger all in the box, when was the last time we scored from a tap in, or similar. All the goals at Preston were shots from distance. The fact of the matter is Freddy is the only player we have who can create something from nothing.

Sorry but you've contradicted yourself there.
If Fred is the only player who can create something from nothing, what about the 3 Preston goals, despite being long-range they weren't exactly from chances where it would be harder not to score!

Failed to win our home games earlier on in the season. Shipped too many goals, especially from set pieces. Failed to create enough chances up front.Lack of second striker for Freddy.

I think we can add Mr Cureton to the list . 3 goals against us , big winner against Leeds , equaliser against Hull , but apparently he missed a sitter in the first half that cost them the 3 points

The whole club is to blame. They all take the plaudits for the promotions & LDV finals, they can ALL take the blame for relegation, if that happens.

Simple as that!

There's only one person to blame for the predicament we find ourselves in...
And that is Steve Tilson!

I blame him for all the trouble we're in right now!!

Had he just done one of these things - made different long-term decisions, brought in other players or generally changed his managerial style - we wouldn't be suffering like we are at the foot of this league.

WE'D STILL BE IN LEAGUE 2!!

Totally agree. The away days at places like Rochdale, Boston, Darlington, et al, are much more fun than this straight-to-ground-and-straight-home palaver nowadays. And the extra expense of the Cup runs.

What a git Tilly is.
