SNOW - Not as good as it used to be.

Mad Cyril

The Fresh Prince of Belfairs⭐⭐🦐
Following the alarmist news reports I fully expected a day off from work so (that I could panic buy milk, bread, tinned food and candles at my local supermarket) as Britain shivered in Artic conditions.

Instead C2C decided to run a full service with no delays or cancellations.

What is this country coming to?

same as ONE - no problems going into London at all

what's happening with these rail companies? tsk

Isn't it ironic that they run relatively smoothly in snowy conditions but on a "normal" day there can be huge disruptions.

I had to walk to work in the snow. It was tough going. Mrs Slipperduke fell down a ravine, I had to eat the huskies and we haven't seen Cpt Oates since his birthday.

Walked through the sludge down Southchurch Road to town.

Bloody 'snow'

I wouldn't mind if it was proper snow but after people have walked on it, it just turns to slippery mush

The DLR, toy-train though it is, continued to work like clockwork this morning. Meanwhile, all the overground trains to Cannon Street were being cancelled left, right and centre...

:thump:

walked to work today as well.. i wouldn't call it snow, it is just slushy wet sh ite and the snow that was falling was more like sleet

I remember back in the day when we used to get three or four FEET of snow! Walking down to the dairy to get milk because they couldn't deliver, building proper snowmen, getting frost bite on my feet because I went out with wellys on. Those were the days!

aye, it almost brings a tear to your eye, doesn't it!

The 8.16 Brighton to London Bridge was spot on time for the first time in weeks. In contrast the Lonsdale Jumper wearing office fatty from Gillingham took 2 hours+ to get in....And boy have we heard all about it.....

And then charging the OAPs three times the price! Aye, I remember it well ...

:D

Had to drive to work today (Leigh -> Tunbridge Wells). Left home at 8am, by 10am I have managed to get to Tarpots!! Arrived at the office around 11:15am...

The return journey might be entertaining if Bread and Cheese Hill freezes over!!!
