Again i think you are missing the point to sms....its mainly aimed at people who may not be able to access a pc .... or like me tomorrow i shall be half way up a mountain.....although probs wont get a signal...but hey you are lucky to be in a position where you can access the site......

1) on my phone received at 04:27PM so that's before you even sent it somehow

2) I would say at least an Hour! make this service worth the money we pay!

3) why text me the results of Friendlys when I am there anyway if I wanted the gold service of full match results etc.. I would subscribe to that.

Anyway, it's not there just for the news, is it? It's for the goal alerts for away games you can't get to, for the people who can't access their pc's during the day...

You can always unsubscribe you know...

I tell people on here so they don't have to pay and spark debate its what this site is for.

But I will say again there are different levels of service I only subscribe to news for instance

if the club wish to market this as a service for people to hear breaking news first then at least give an hours exclusivity if not then don't market it that way then people can make their choice if they are away from a computer enough not to use the service, I am not trying to have a go here but I think there has to be a clear line on this and value for money.

1) The time on the server is obviously different to your phone.

2) An hour? So we make a big signing and you don't want us to tell anyone for 60 minutes? I think that is slightly rediculious.

If SUFC wait an hour to release on the official site then people will complain that the official site is too slow! SUFC can't really win here can they....

I think it's fair enough for the news to hit the OS pretty much the same time as we get the text. The point of the service, I've always thought, was to give those who can't refresh the OS every thirty seconds all day the chance to still find out news as soon as it happens.

I'd agree with TB about the friendly results though. I only want the news which is why I didn't sign up to get match results and goal scorers so I wasn't over pleased by the text last night with the Chelmsford result on it.

I have to agree here. I don't see the problem with the service. Most people are by their phones for a large amount of the day, so if an SMS is sent then it is likely you will read it and be informed of the news as soon as it unfolds. Is that not the main point? That you know what is happening as soon as it does?!

What would be the point of finding out an hour before it is put on the OS? Surely your life isnt less fulfilled because you only get 10 minutes ahead of the OS? You always post it on here first anyways so it must be pretty quick!

If the club want to display the news on both at the same time then thats 110% fine by me, BUT don't market it like SMS users are getting exclusive info first because if they are and you are getting subscribers that way then make it worth while

But why would you want to know an hour before everyone else? What would be the point of that? The club say that those who subscribe get the news first, and they do.

I'm sorry Scott, I just don't get what the gripe is about. What could you do in an hour other than break the news to everyone else first (which you managed in 5 minutes... as did I and at least one other person as well)? Is it so that people would then see you as "the oracle" for all things Southend, or so that it made you feel that you were closer to the club than the average fan?

Not trying to be clever here mate, just trying to understand. Why is it so important to you to have that hour of exclusive info (that would also be exclusive to other sms subscribers)?

but its already been established that sms subscribers are getting news before anyone else.
whether its 10 mins or 30 seconds before its still being delivered to sms subscribers first.
