Can you really say Richards was bad when we made money from him?

In the footballing sense he made very little impact, hence I put him as a bad - as a concession I'd go for undecided :D

I don't really blame Richards for wanting to leave - after all the partnership of Clarke and Barrett was looking calamitous for most of the season - and a partnership of Richards + Barrett or Clarke looked much more solid, but at the earliest opportunity he was back out of the side. He wasn't ever really going to get a decent chance I don't think.

to me that makes him a bad buy. The fact that he didn't get in the squad means he was a poor acquisition. Even if he did ok when he did get in.

For the newbies I was scathing of our interest in Foran before we signed him & suspected it would all go pear-shaped (although certainly didn't forsee the actual reason as to why he'd eventually be forced out of RH!!!)

How can you put Peter Clarke and Ricketts in the same section?? Peter Clarke is a great signing he is solid and ok he does make the odd mistake but is a class defender. Do you go to many games?? Cause you obviously are watching a different Peter Clarke to the one I see week in week out.

No so in fact Barrett is a disastrous signing aswell then, he hasn't been keeping clean sheets. Add in Hunt and Francis and Hammell.

the point is, Wignall found him, not Tilly, so hardly counts as a good signing.

No so in fact Barrett is a disastrous signing aswell then, he hasn't been keeping clean sheets. Add in Hunt and Francis and Hammell.

Barrett and Hunt have to be considered successful signings, as both were signed on free transfers and played an important role in consecutive promotions, of which our defence was a key part.

What makes Clarke a particularly poor signing was his price tag (he cost more than Paynter and Foran, and we at least recouped most of our expenditure on Paynter), and that his signing has meant Tilly has failed to address our problems in defence.

Maybe you are happy with our defence, but I'm not. It was our defence not our forwards that saw us relegated last season, and it is our defence not our forwards that sees us not in the automatic promotion race this season.
