ShrimperZone World Cup 5 a side Tournamant - 12 June

number11

"Good morning everybody........"
Guys,

On 12 June SZFC are holding a 5 a side tournament based on the world cup (ie 32 teams, 8 groups of 4) at Playfootball.com (At the Chase School, Prittlewell Chase, Westcliff).

This is the first full day of the World Cup, with 3 matches that day culminating in England V USA in the evening. The bar is open all day and food will be available.

If anyone plays for a team that wants to enter, or just wants to get their friends together to enter, please let me know. Otherwise, everyone else is welcome to come down to watch the matches and enjoy a drink in the bar.

What are the entry fees per team Mark and is there going to be a trophy for the winners?

£40 per team, maximum 8 in a squad, so only £5 per player.

Trophy for winners, plates winners (ie bottom two in each group will play in the plate competition) and Top Scorer.

alas it is Zoner wardys birthday and we have a full calender of events planned

Well "full" meaning cafe, pub, pub for football, club containing naked young ladies

You beat me to it. When you're there, could someone have a look out for my knees for me as I left them behind last time?

:'(

Would love to, however, i'm in South Africa, watching some other football tournament.

Ridiculous if there is a minimum age, to be honest.

Yeah, seven of my mates and me are in. Unless there is an over 18 only limit, in which case, we can't.

It's not really ridiculous. The teams playing will be men's teams so we have to be careful about letting those U/16 play with a view to the consequences of one of them getting injured etc.

At this stage anyone over 16 can play though, so pm me your email address and I will forward you the entry form.

There is an age limit on when people can play Men's football, which is 16 years old.

So as we are affilitated to the FA, I would say that this age restriction is in place.

Is there a closign date for this?

I think i could scrape together a team easily but I am currently crocked and not sure when I will be fit.
