ShrimperZone FC Victorious

I would hope not as the Manager of Kingsfield sits 3 rows in front of me at the Hall so he can't say anything and to be honest Brian wouldn't be like that.......I hope!!

thanks to asll those that came and supported yesterday, was excellent to have the Blue voice.... and the Harris Voice behind us.

Really disappointed I wasn't able to make this, but well done indeed lads. It's horrible to lose on penalties, but I bet it felt fantastic to win that way!

Well done everyone.

A massive thank you from me as well to everyone who came over. The turnout was much better than expected and we are all really appreciate the excellent support yesterday.

Whilst it wasn't the best game in the world in terms of quality, it was definately an action packed 120 mins with plenty of goalmouth action at both ends. Luckily we kept our cool in the shootout so it was a good day all round.

Who's gonna do a match report then?! :report: :report:

By their lack of presence on the board this morning, I presume the Chairman and the Gaffer are both still in bed...possibly nursing hangovers (Not together obviously...).

Mini summary - We dominated first half and have numerous half chances but couldnt put one away. Second half we conceded a breakaway goal shortly into the second half, and then battered them. With 20 to go it looked like it just wouldnt be our day as we missed a lot of chances, then Dicky Day headed in a corner from Shrimpersarmy to bring extra time. Half way through the first period Shrimpersarmy headed in my free kick and I thought the game was safe, but they scored direct from a free kick in the second period to bring the penalty shoot out.

TheGeneral, Junior Toot, Shrimpersarmy and Dicky Day scored our pens (I was due to take the fifth...wasnt really sure what was happening at this stage though having been momentarily knocked out about 10 minutes earlier!) and they missed their first two (first one wide, second one SZ Flapper saved to his left).

Scrounger lifted the trophy to give Shrimperzone FC its first silverware.

Im sure the Club Chairman (Bob Cratchit) will post something during the summer, but if anyone wants to get involved in some Sunday football they should come over pre-season.

I would like to thank everyone for turning up to support the team, especially when you consider the £4 entrance fee. It was a great atmosphere and one I am sure both teams and officials enjoyed being involved in.

Once again well done the team, it is a great way to finish off the season. The penalties were all well taken and some excellent mind games from Flapper.

Also funny to see the Allclaims lads disappear after the winning penalty, I understand they were keen to say hello during the game.

Apparently ShrimperZone was celebrating twice, one for winning the cup and two for southend securing their place in the league 2 play off final on saturday!

Is it me or does the echo hate southend?!?
