I was trying to think of the team I starred for , but I think is was Hewlyn Athletic...Do they still exist? I remember the game was played on Leigh tip..Those pitches have long gone and thank god...I obviously starred in other games but that one sticks out.;)

I may well come along. If I can get fit I could well do a job for one of the teams this year. The Unders/Overs type game I played in over Cupids the other month where BlueStig had a dance with the post was really enjoyable.

Get your arse over there son, though I can't be there this Sunday. Shaping up to be a decent season for all three teams especially if we get some new blood coming along, and by the looks of the interest in this thread there's three or four potential newbies already.
Cricko - don't think I missed your comments. It doesn't matter if you are good enough or fit enough, if you are the Gaffer that's all that matters when it comes to match selection. As it happens I am good enough and fit enough but there'll come a day one season soon. :p
Now off to squash to wipe the floor with my neighbour again.

Every year about this time when the weather is nice i think to myself, yeah, i could do another season!
Unfortunately i get about 5 months into it, the fitness levels get better and i start thinking i'm better than i am. Then i seem to be going round kicking the opposition and not the ball and low and behold injure myself, which at my age means a few months out instead of weeks.
So this year will be the first when i say enough is enough, maybe 34 seasons of football and i've had my fill!
Good luck Shrimperzone, i implore everybody that fancies their luck to get in touch with these lads as they are a great bunch.
