Shrimpers parkrun meet up | 11th January 2025?

@AndyH @Supernaut @Dave Smiths Love Child @johnlattimerssponge @Massimo Giovanni @BunnyIX

We all still up for Saturday? I’ve never done Southend parkrun before, where is best to park for this? Can always do a coffee/tea/fry up afterwards.

I’m should recognise some from my Roots Hall Run, however I’ll be wearing this top below for anyone that I haven’t met. I’m aiming to get there about 8:30/8:40.

I'm still up for it. I've never done that Park Run either (I'm a Chalkwell Beach regular), so I'm also looking for some local knowledge re parking.

Hi Mike, Gunners main car park quite big and free, usually spaces up to 8.40, I try and get there by 8.35. There is a small overflow car park, round by the cafe/restaurant but not sure way by road in. Main carpark, easiest to go along seafront to end where it bears left then turn right….

Ok, proper directions from PR site!

From the seafront head east along the B1016. After turning North into Ness Rd, take the first right into New Barge Pier Rd. Follow the road around the corner and take the first right into the car park below the height restriction barrier.

See you down the finish straight hill, which is where start congregation is.
I will be with my wife with a walking crutch, 3 weeks since a new knee so she won’t be running!

Mike , so sorry
I managed to prang my car yday and now awaiting to go into repair, so unable to make the PR, too far for me to run to make it,so apologies for not making it, last time injured, this time car prang I couldn’t make it up

Sorry to hear that Dave, hope the car is okay. Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully meet you at the next one.

Thanks Mike, SNaut, nice to chat, course did look nice in the frost! Good work by the organisers, changing route to miss icy run to finish. Pic a runner took yesterday, thought it might cancel. IMG_7909.jpeg
