Shrimpers Invasion Of Wembley

The Big Shrimp

Zone Photographer
I was enough to get tickets to the Under 21 game at Wembley.

Not only was the stadium superb & miles better than The Millenium (Not being in Wales is a big plus!) but I managed to see loads Southend shirts, flags & fans. Met up with Ldnfatso again (a colder than Oz!) Napster & several others in Southend shirts.

More Shrimpers than other teams? Who knows, it certainly seemed that way!!

Another Shrimper here (Cambridgeshire exile) who was in Block L - just in front of two other Southenders - wonderful stadium, atmosphere a bit flat but only to be expected for a friendly with no opposition fans - gonna be amazing with a full house - good acoustics.
(Scary prices for food though £8 for a burger, chips and coke!)

Yes, I was lucky enough to get a ticket yesterday.

Just written a write-up on longpier - hope you enjoy my account of a great day out....also useful info about food prices!!

Was a good day out, sat way up high in block D, there were a couple of shrimpers sitting a couple of rows down from us. Great stadium, easily the best I've ever been to - however the food is extortionately priced (albeit the chicken balti pie I ate was very nice!)

I was there with my two bro's and the old man, we saw a few Shrimpers while we there.

Unbelievable stadium, I still cant get over how big it looks when your outside!

I actually preferred the Mill Stad to be fair but you cant grumble over that kind of thing and compare it.

Still, give me some random L1/L2 dump everyday of the week!

I thought the blocks had numbers? My ticket had Block 514 on which was right behind the goal England were defending (I use the term loosely!)

I know there were a couple of Shrimpers just behind me, as their shirt was a bit of a give away!!

Maybe I should post my photo on the photo section, with me wearing my SUFC shirt on!!

3 pints and 3 pies for 24 quid! queueing for 45 mins for a programme - and a leaky aircon unit meaning some of it is already rusting.

lot to do still, if you ask me.

and kieran richardson was rubbish.

I was in block 525, section A, row 35 - opposite the halfway line, near the Gods, but still a cracking view.

Sounds like us, we were block 514 in the top row (we went through entrance D, which is probably what I meant!). Good view, a bit hard to see who's got the ball!

I wondered what the smell was.... :D

I was in row 21 I think. Agree re the view, it was cracking.

Did prefer the mil stad though. Because I was watching Southend when I was there? Possibly.
