Shrews in peace.

You gave a very good showing today; I've a soft spot for your place as used to live not too far away. Anyhow, about the football...

Some people say it was a ropey game in places - that's because two skilled passing teams largely cancelled each other out; and a lumpy pitch didn't help. Your goal was beautifully taken, credit to your lad. Our man Ellis should have stood up rather than commit to the tackle. That said, I don't think the free kick from which the goal came was justified but that's football.

Someone in the 'match ratings thread' touched on the time wasting. I hate to see it in football, but again if we were in your position, our lads would have done the same - I don't condone it though as it often comes back to haunt you!!

Ref was hit and miss - picky with some fouls, not with others, inconsistent really. But I don't think he affected the game in any great way, other than what I said above.

You've a good team, good away support. Probably see you in League One next season. Good luck.

Cheers pal, you have a good signing in Barnett, he should ensure your promotion, hopefully with us:smile:

I am bitterly disappointed by young Mr Bentleys howler, but some of the saves he made during the game prior to the mistake seem to have been forgotten by some. Yes indeed we did throw two points away late on however IMO it's still a good point to take judging on Shrewsbury's home form and ability to find the net. chin up Dan, your mistakes are noticed by most, part and parcel of being a goalie.
