Sep Blater President of FIFA has asked the FA to reconsider extending the ban on Martin Taylor for the tackle on Eduardo da Silva

SSN just reported that Sep Blater is considering bringing in a sanction that works on the basis of if a player injures another player and is sent of for it, the player committing the foul may not be able to return to the game until the injured player does.

I don't whether I agree with this or not. In the case of Ben Thatcher's awful tackle on Pedro Mendes he should be kicked out of football for good. But I don't Martin Taylor's tackle was intentional to cause the damage he did.

Exactly. Taylor's challenge was clumsy, but it wasn't malicious. Cole's tackle last night was malicious, but as it didn't break Hutton's leg, it will go unpunished.

Blatter is an idiot. You can't go around whacking punishments down according to the perceived media attention of every injury.

What a c**t!

An interesting idea, which if approved makes Steve Tilson's releasing Jay Smith an even more costly mistake than even Wiggy thinks.

We could just line-up Jay Smith against our rival's key player, safe in the knowledge that the first tackle would see Jay Smith die and our opponent's star man banned for life.

Dear Sepp:

You're a c*ck you're a c*ck you're a c*ck you're a c*ck you're a c*ck you're a c*ck

Just going to move this over to all-leagues by the way...

I like your thinking there, Jay Smith vs Karl Dogweed! :D Then once recovered Jay Smith vs Sean Thornton ;)

I'm thinking of setting up a poll about Sepp Blatter. I expect it'll be one of the most one-sided in SZ history....

Am I the only one that thinks thats not such a bad idea.

Eduardo loses a year of his career and Martin Taylor walks away with a three match ban. Seems a bit unfair I think.

I still maintain that Taylor has made that tackle with every intention of 'going through' Eduardo, in a let him know Im about kind of way. May not have malicious intent to cause the injuries it did, but was certainly reckless if not negligent, and 3 game ban is getting off lightly.

Blatter's idea is clearly stupid though!

It's all about setting a good example to the kids playing their footy around the world, who cares if Taylor meant it or not,the deed was done regardless.
At that level he should know how to tackle and when a serious injury entails he should be dealt with severely to make players think twice about how they tackle in the game.

I actually think the opposite of this! When I saw the replay over and over, it looked to me as though Eduardo saw the challenge coming in out of the corner of his eye and passed the ball away slightly looking for the foul. Unfortunately, he moved slightly too and go caught.

It wasn't a malicious tackle. I honestly think that he went for the ball and that Eduardo was a bit too quick for him. Clumsy at the most.

Blatter is a w*nker who needs to keep his big nose out of our domestic affairs. Has he got nothing better to do? I've lost count of the amount times I've seen a BBC Sport story detailing Sepp Blatter getting involved in a European country's domestic situation that has nothing to do with him.

Bit of a stupid idea really, what if Rooney broke Drogba's leg and chelsea intentionally kept Drogba out for longer so it prevents Rooney from playing?
