I'm seeing a lot of photos on Twitter of several rows of smashed seats at Orient tonight and people posting pictures of seat backs they seem to have 'liberated'.

Now don't get me wrong I have as much animosity/rivalry towards Orient/Wet Spam/Col Ewe as any Shrimper but I just have the one question having gone there and got the result we wanted and out sung and out supported them in their own back yard, why do you feel the need to do that?

How will you feel in a fortnight's time when they come to Roots Hall and do the same thing to the North Bank and we have to find the cash, which we all know we haven't really got, to fund the repairs.

Come on, simple question, why do it?:thumbdown:

More likely that SUFC wouldn't repair the seats and instead cordon it off and we'll lose the north bank :-(

Just a note on orients seats they were flimsily at best and a large away following was always going to kick a few off

Also more importantly I did not see any seats being thrown

Don't make it right but when you have such poor quality seats would you expect anything less

Sadly with a large away following we will attract a few more yobs and with our section being quite full it seems to have enabled them to get away with this vandalism that is not big or clever undetected .

****ing pathetic and takes a bit of the shine off last night for me.

Takes the shine off??? Get you a violin shall I?

It's a few plastic seat backs that in my opinion were no fit for use. As I said earlier no need to be destructive but I am really not going to lose an sleep over it

I am a bit concerned that a representative of the supporters , who meets with the club on a regular basis, is appearing to condone mindless vandalism.

I am sure this is not the case, but some of these posts could well be misconstrued .

What utter nonsense. I'd expect that when we go away from home we don't trash their stadium. I've managed it for 20 years.

Unfortunately if you put children and people with the mental age of children in a tribal environment like last night they will be prone to being destructive. I too, to my shame, destroyed a few things in my childhood when I was in a pack. So to be clear to anyone reading this who destroyed seats last night, you are either a child or a ******.

It never used to be like this ? What's changed ?

You could get stuck into banter with Orient but could respect a lot of other things about them. They provide a rivalry when their fans could easily support West Ham but don't, just like many of us. They back their team despite having a dodgy chairman, like us.

So smash up their stadium, why ?

We've lost our way as fans.

Always going to get some idiots amongst a large crowd at a derby game. Don't see what the point of it is though.

One thing i will say is that i thought the stewarding and police presence at the game was extremely OTT. Loads of police at Leyton tube station, and dotted around the High Street, with roads around the away stand blocked off for away fans only. Then for everyone to be searched before entering was a bit of a joke!

At times, if you treat people like animals some might start acting like animals!

Condones it? Do you bother to read the posts I have said I don condone it and there is no need for it but it should be mentioned that the seats were in a terrible state beforehand

What would you prefer no organization and fights break out. Can't say I felt it was heavy handed. This game does have a history of violence so there was always going to be a large Police presence. As for being searched Ive no problem with that either as Ive nothing to hide. Would have preferred to have being searched by a rather attractive female steward but sadly she was just searching the women.

So prey tell me how many seas get broken that are secured properly? Not many but again WHO is condoning it?
