Season Review DVD

With all the xmas shopping now done, just discovered a normal must have under the tree, doesnt appear to be on sale.

Anybody know if a review DVD from last season will be produced?

I would imagine that the club would not feel it would be worthwhile economically with the season we had. Yes there were a few games we all would not mind seeing again, but is it a long enough list that enough people would buy a DVD?

Man U
QPR (h)
Birmingham (a)
Preston (a)
West Brom (h)
Southampton (h)
Sunderland (h)

Its not a massive list is it?

Also, as I am not back in Southend for Christmas till tomorrow, can anyone tell me if the REAL essential stocking filler, that is a blues calendar is being produced?

I think it's a shame that there's clearly not going to be a DVD of last season. Personally I'd probably buy a review of any season we've had because.... well because I buy a stupid number of DVDs every month anyway. But after all the years of dross in League Two/Division Three I'll always look back on last season rather fondly.

I think the club should produce a DVD every year regardless of how well or how poorly we've done on the field. Or at least let those fans who want to keep a record of the season permenantly download the goals from the website.

I agree, but as we all know, money talks. The club had a trouble deciding to produce more DVD's of the season we got promoted, so I cant see them doing one for last year

Surely in 2007 there are ways of getting something produced that doesn't cost so much that the Club can't do it? If the problem is the cost of physically producing the DVD then maybe look into using the internet and give fans who want to download a two hour long season's highlight package for maybe ten or fifteen pounds the opportunity to do so.

Personally I'd like to have a record of our first season in the second tier for ten years, and potentially our last there for a few years. You never know what the future has in store.

I'd always buy a DVD of the seasons goals. I've got all the videos produced when they used to release them on VHS and some of those were dire seasons with relegations.

I also can't understand why the club have not produced a Freddy Eastwood DVD showing all his goals. They did it for Collymore who scored only about a third of the amount Freddy did.

Amazing that they have not brought out a DVD of last season. I would have thought that it would have sold well enough to have more than made it worth their while.

Another opportunity for the club to make money has seemingly been lost...

i'd buy it. Ok we lost 4-0 at Sunderland but the stadium of light was fantastic and there were some good memories of last season including the 2-0 win at Ipswich.

Id buy it just to see some of the wonder goals we scored last season, well any goal from Maher is a wonder :p

QPR at home? (That was pre Amy so you must have been watching surely) :p

Couple of others:

Southampton (a) - for the off the pitch antics and Barretts goal
Naaaarwich (h) - for the comeback

Not surprised that no DVD is being produced, although I agree with Scott in some respects: perhaps they should release a 'best of Southend's goals' compilation for last season...

Wish they would produce a DVD will the club for fill our requests or not? methinks the latter

After the amount of negative reaction to the club podcasts, I honestly don't know why the club would go to the trouble of doing it.

I too would probably buy a DVD every year regardless and if there's an online one even better.

I'd also like them to produce a DVD of the Lincoln playoff final.
Thanks to technology (a knackered Sky+ box & an even more kaput DVD-R) I've now got no record of the game other than the 10 minutes on the 04/05 Season Review :(

If they could do it for Man Utd, why could they not do it for Lincoln?
