Question Season 2025/26 Kit

As stated many times, including by myself, they are a business and it looked like one of their customers was going to be wound up.

Would you risk making hundreds of items of stock for a company that was on the brink of going bang?
This is a very good point. I'll give them the benefit and see what this season brings.

But I'm not holding out much hope.

As pointed out before, Gillingham have just released 2 very nice kits (bastards)

Those clubs who have the Premier bespoke with Macron in terms of size nearest to us are Walsall and Gillingham just look at the new 25 kits of both teams.

Quality, design, the whole lot miles better.

Just looked at both kits - you are dead right, miles better than our last couple of iterations.

Bastardos.

I get it as stated in my post, but they could've produced more batches especially 23/24 season when stock was pathetic. I get they don't want to make 5000 kits on day 1, but they could've made more of an effort over the course of the season when it was clear there was demand.

yeah fair point - maybe one for the FAB and / or Tom Lawrence to answer

Imagine what could have been sold if we still had stock prior to the play off final, easy money completely lost. The stock in the shop is pathetic and awful quality. Surely something COSU should be paying a lot of attention too.

I get it was quite short notice, but imagine how many red away shirts with the PO Final stitching we could have sold.
(Definitely 2 as me and my boy would have got one).

All I hope is that we have been promoted in terms of bespoke opportunities with Macron. All our previous kits we are in the championship league in terms of bespoke with Macron.

Those wondering wtf. I'm going on about.

Macron seems to have tiers in terms of bespoke with it's clubs.

Quality, design, the whole lot miles better. We sell more shirts 👕 I can't see why we shouldn't be given this service as a club.

If we haven't been promoted in terms of bespoke. I'm going to be ****ed off we should dump Macron
Just took a look at the new Gillingham and Walsall kits.

Certainly not a fan of the Gills home or 3rd kits, but the away is really smart.

The Walsall home is pretty smart, too, but the away is a bit meh.

True, I'm just highlighting the quality difference between those kits and ours.

The material, print, shorts badge, the whole lot is much higher and better quality than ours.

Take our away last season. The shirt , shorts and socks all different shades of red. My wife thought it was fake kit. She said when did Southend start selling fake kits.

Some people don't get it, but I'm fully the same mindset

Obviously, beggars can't be choosers and when we had those last few kits designed, we had no idea if the club would exist so I see why Macron maybe did the bare minimum

But sadly it just seems to be a pattern with none league, forest green (Umbro) for example, their socks were an obvious wrong shade of green all season

Hopefully they give us better treatment, but as it's likely to be out last kit from them ... I doubt it

Fully expecting 3 version of the same kit in 3 different colours again

Haven’t read all of this thread but I sense the direction these genuinely go in. As someone who is in the industry I do know a little about production and lead times.

To play devils advocate and give Macron their due. This time last year was still very uncertain and those kit decisions are signed off months in advance when it was even more uncertain so they obviously wanted some assurances we were going to be, first of all, in business and secondly, in a position to pay our bills.

That being said however the restocking throughout the season as the picture became a lot clearer should have been handled better for the likes of Christmas and there’s no getting away from the clear sizing issues across the board this season.

I guess Macron have an extra incentive to treat us well this year as it’s the last year of the contract. If they do a bad job and there are complaints then I would have thought we’ll go elsewhere next season.

@Shrimpergonzo I'm rather hoping that we're already panning to go somewhere else anyway. Upping their game because we threaten not renew with them is too little too late in my eyes. It's like your Insurance Company offering you a reduced premium when you say you've got a better deal elsewhere.

Just be the best you can be all the time, not just when you're being 'held to ransom'.
