Seaso's Screwed Over

Quote[/b] ]basically the credit card protection scheme meant that if a club goes bust and has only fulfilled 50% (for arguments sake) of its fixtures the CC company has to reimburse half of the  original cost
So to cover themselves against this potential loss they decided to release the season ticket funds to the club on a monthly basis. So there was absolutely no benefit to the club what so ever.

Does this effectively mean that the CC companies still make fortunes from the interest earned on unreleased funds to the clubs.???  Thieving b*stards
No, from what I understand all the funds are placed into an interest-bearing account and then released throughout the season. It isn't a money-making scheme, it's security in case the club goes bust. As Firestorm said, if the club goes bust then anyone who has paid by card is entitled to get their money back through the chargeback system for the unused part of the payment. And it would be the club's bank who would be liable to make those payments. With football clubs operating in the financial climate in which they do its a precaution that banks have to put in place to cover themselves.

Hope everyone manages to get their season tickets with the lack of time to gather the funds.

Another possible idea, get your mum/dad/brother/sister etc to buy it for you for your birthday! My season ticket is my 21st Birthday present! I'm glad that it is, cause I could never afford it otherwise

Credit cards are being accepted - there's a box on the application form for credit (and debit) cards. However, the form does say that they prefer you to pay by cash or cheque because of the charges levied on the club by the credit card companies.

Quote[/b] (EastStandBlue @ May 10 2006,19:23)]I'm a bit disapointed at the length of time existing Season Ticket Holders have been gven to renew them, with All Season Tickets that have not been renewed by 1st June being up for Grabs, giving Seaso's 3 weeks to find the money to renew or face losing their seat.

I love my seat and want to renew it next year, but will struggle to find the money for my season ticket baring in mind the short gap between the end of the season and the deadline. It's a lot of money to find in such short notice...

I'd happily place a deposit down in order to keep my seat Until mid-July, by which time i'll be able to pay the remaining balance... And if i haven't, i'll lose my deposit and the first option on the seat. Something IMO the club should look to do.

I think everybody would agree its been an expensive season. Away Games like Swansea, Barnsley and Bournemouth costing a fair amount of Cash in the closing weeks of the season and i think the club should be a bit more sensitive to this fact in the future...
I wont mention how expensive our season in the championship is going to cost then!!

Oops sorry

I do agree with the point you are making though!!
