Sean Thornton

We also had to put up with Leon Clarke's tantrums which cost us at Forest and Donny ( and maybe Swansea away ? )

Forest, he definitely didn't help (neither did Chambers reaction IMO) I still think we would have lost even with 11 men Forest were all over us in the second half.

Clarke didn't play at Swansea. We were struggling to cope even before Bailey got sent-off for two bookings after half an hour, it was game over after that!

Our inability to defend corners cost us at Donny.

What rankles is that the to$$er Thornton was simply a case of outright cheating and I am still convinced he cost us 3 vital points that day

If it's any consolation, last time we ****ed up your automatic promotion, you went and won the playoffs anyway.

ps. Why not try getting over it, and concentrating on not having to go through another season giving us points? Christ...

Carlisle's players and fans were all over Bailey for cheating way before the red card though.

I didn't go today and may be doing Nicky Bailey a injustice in suggesting that he's been less than 100% honest but I have seen him over the course of the season and he has consistently gone down exceptionally easily and seems to take great delight in winding up opposition players.

Bailey was kicked up in the air by their No. 6 who only received a yellow but could have been red. Five minutes later Bailey dived in on someone else and got a booking. Their players were wound up and the tackles were flying in. When their player upended Bailey, ok he was rolling around a bit but it looked a bad tackle from the stands, and the ref gave him a red. These things happen but maybe the ref thought he should have sent the other bloke off for the first tackle on Bailey and thought he had better do something before it all got out of hand. Morale of the story is to the ref - get it right! and to the players - don't wind up a ginger!

And filling your ground up

I've only seen Bailey dive a couple of times this season but sadly that's football these days. Even 'hard' players like him and Gerrard and Rooney are diving. He does like to mouth off but you want two fiery terriers in central midfield and that's what we have.

Bailey has an old head on young shoulders & knows exactly what the modern game is all about.

Macca & Bailey are a whole lot to do with our current run of form & are the best CM pairing I've seen in the team for years.

Bailey has a great future in the game, well done Nick you were outstanding yesterday my son.....

Wondered when you'd surface , Jonny :)

I appreciate that , but found it a bit mysterious at the time - wondered if there'd been a massive bust up . The players certainly looked out of sorts that day

To be fair, McCormacks disciplinary record this season, since the first game, has been first class......not.

And this season, Thornton has been booked for simulation........not once.

Are you saying Thornton is good at getting away with it ?

He is a cheat and if we are in the same league as the Sad O's next year I am sure he will receive a very warm welcome from all the Southend fans who will have ' moved on ' .

Im pretty sure he as, cant remember who against tho, got booked for diving then booked for handball and sent off

He was sent off against Cardiff for two handballs and against Leeds, for leading with the elbow.

No bookings for simulation at all.

Clarke was taken ill the day before the Swansea game and did not travel.

There was nothing mysterious about our performance that day - we were taken apart by a better team.
