It shouldn't matter in certain circumstances. Ownership of a football club not being one.

It's not as if he has applied for a job in retail. It's a responsibility of a local and much treasured community asset.

Fraud is quite a red flag for a financially driven business.

Almost if its a straight choice between us going bust, or getting into the hands of someone like Scunny has got to, then would rather us go bust.

This is exactly what I've been saying throughout the summer.

So many of our fans saying "ANYONE IS BETTER THAN MARTIN" and just begging for whoever is sniffing around to "get the deal done asap"

Be as someone said above, be careful what you wish for - cos there were absolutely no guarantees a new owner is going to come in and wave a magic wand.

Yes, we need rid of Martin obviously, but let Scunthorpe serve as a lesson to just saying "anyone" will do.

In my opinion football is a shambles. Players wages have spiralled ridiculously out of control (Harland's weekly wage would solve our HMRC and utility debts alone for example) it's no longer about anything other than who has the most money.

Most premier league armchair followers (supporters?) do nothing but moan about their owners, the state of their huge stadiums and the disaster that will follow if they don't finish top 4 how I miss the days when players played for a club they love and want to play for not who pays them an extra £20k a week.

The governing bodies seem happy to take money from the clubs but when a club gets in trouble (are there any that aren't carrying huge debts?) There doesn't appear to be a fit and proper structure to help a club through a period of uncertainty or extinction?

Supporter input surely has to become part of the game but in the PL most of their income probably comes from TV and sponsorship so do they truly care about the real (not armchair followers) supporters who put money through the turnstiles?

Last season we saw another example of this in our league (Wrexham) it made a great story and good luck to them (I wish it had been us) but yet again it's all about money.

Like us it appears Scunny had little choice if they were to stay alive, only their supporters can answer if they would have preferred to be have been wound up in January rather than still exist in the 6th tier under what is obviously a very uncertain dark cloud

Right now I would settle on taking the gamble on a new owner because in 7 days we will cease to exist, if we get bought out let's hope and things don't go the way they have at Scunthorpe. I hope they get their problems resolved and our club survives to play them again in the future

For a club that produced the likes of Keegan, Ray Clemence, Graham Alexander and Peter Beagrie there must be a serious war chest buried somewhere. On a more serious note I always looked forward to our Friday night games against them back in late 60/early 70. I wish them well.

The club Owner and Chairman has recently notified the Board of Directors of his decision to withdraw his funding from the club moving forward.

Shocking state of affairs, now having to leave Glanford Park and play their home games at Gainsborough Trinity will all funding being withdrawn from owner / chairman.

An 'external company' coming in to sort debts. Not sounding good. Hopefully they get their knight in shining armour too. Arguably in a worse position than us.
