[h=3]Changes made for cup clash with the Iron at Glanford Park.[/h]Words from the Official site:

Southend United manager Phil Brown has made a number of changes for the game against Scunthorpe United at Glanford Park.

Luke O'Neill comes in for John White, with Michael Timlin taking the captain's armband.

Glen Rea comes into central midfield in place of the injured Gary Deegan, whilst Myles Weston comes in for David Mooney.

Now we know! COYB

No Worrall and Mooney at the start and a lot of inexperience in Rea and O Neill. could this be another of Phils co-k up calls, where he admits he got it wrong afterwards?
Please prove me wrong boys, but looks like the usual defensive mindset. with Weston running into the corner flags from just before half time

Every week I hope for an attacking 442 with 2 wingers and it never happens. Why not have a go today and play both Worrall and McLaughlin?? Playing Rea in midfield seems like a very strange option.

Williams is there and was training beforehand with Thompson apparently. I admit to being a little surprised he wasn't included, and that Worrall still doesn't merit a start. I do understand the inclusion of Rea but would personally have preferred the more orthodox two CMs with two wide men in Worrall and McLaughlin.
