Scout at Roots Hall

Sitting 4 seats to my left in the upper south was a fat bloke making notes throughout the first half. We hadn't seen him before so we asked him what he was doing. It turned out he was scouting for Sunderland and was watching Francis.

Lets hope he stayed for the latter part of the second half where Francis did his best to look dreadful

Francis was fantastic for the first hour. They signed Halford and I'm still of the opinion that Francis is better, so I'm not surprised.

Francis was one of our best players, pretty much been our best attacking outlet all season which says it all about our midfield. The guy does 2 jobs most games, much like he did last season with useless Tommy Black.

Think Francis is the best player in the team at the moment and is where most of our attacking optons are coming from with the absence of a creative midfielder...sorry Frank Moussa but nothing coming from him!

Francis....mmm.
Don't like the way our goals conceded so far this season always come from his flank.
His overlapping so far has been minimal.
As confident as he looks, when the **** hits the pan,Franny is all at sea.

I still like him though so i'm giving Scumderland one of these..:finger:

I sat next to said scout, which seat are you Maninasuitcase? He said he was just here to watch the game and had no specific instructions. Took notes on Francis and Clarke. from what i saw of the notes, which he tried to hide, it mentioned him being a decent right back, which a good cross, could cut inside and read the game well.
More interestingly for me (as i'm a bit of a talker and i spoke to him at great length - He's an ex-Sunderland player and also works for Dundee United and is due to take in his homeside's clash with Spurs tomorrow before heading up for Aberdeen vs someone else) he asked what i considered to be wrong with the side. I mentioned a lack of creativity and a ball player in midefield but he was convinced a lack of pace all over the pitch, especially up front was our downfall. Nothing to worry about though, he won't be recommending any of the players on show tonight!
