Breaking News Scannell loaned to Brentford

Probably do him the world of good. He clearly isn't quite ready and hasn't reached his full potential. However, I'm of the opinion that if players aren't a hit when they first arrive (for us anyway), then they never will be. I'm trying hard to think of any players who have flopped initially but then gone on to be an irreplacable cog in the team.

Mark Bentley is one that springs to mind. Recall most people didnt really rate him at first but he became quite a main stay of the team. I was personally gutted to see him leave when he did.

Don't think you can class Scannell (please spell his name right people!!) a flop after so few matches

I didn't atually say that Scannell was a flop but I don't think he has cemented his place in the team like I thought he would.
Aside from this, I like him and have seen a few good performances from him, and when he comes on he always gives 100%. Time will tell I guess, hopefully the loan spell will do him the world of good.

Yeah good shout. There are always the odd few that aren't instant hits, but I think its more the rule than the exception that players who don't start out to be all that great, usually don't go on to be anything more. Hey ho, time will tell.

Unusually i completely agree with this. Benno was certainly a player you didn't realise you'd miss until he wasn't there anymore. I would say Gower was another.

Gower was pretty much an instant hit though-didn't he score twice on his debut? However, you may be right- that probably still wasn't enough for some.

Hate to say it but Barny get rid, aint no good to us on the treatment table most of season and his injury recoed suggests it wont be his last
